Amazon App Store

nuVue is a companion app for Media Browser users that displays rich notifications when new items are added. There is nothing additional to install on your Media Browserserver. Just sign in with your credentials and nuVue does the rest.

  • Know when there is something new to watch without opening a client app
  • See what TV series and movies are currently in-progress
  • Perfect for cord-cutters who use automated downloads
  • Group notifications and listings by media type, server, or a single list
  • Full support for Android Wear notifications
  • Quick and easy playback on connected clients (does not include Chromecast)

Looks nice. Too bad it is incompatible with my Kindle Fire HDX (3rd Generation) using Amazon's Fire OS 4.X.

I'm still working on migrating over the in-app purchase to use Amazon's API so that I can update the Appstore version of nuVue to 2.x. Is the Appstore showing that the app is incompatible with your Kindle Fire HDX?

So I'm guessing that screenshot of playing on Chromecast is from a Plex user? So disappointing. :(

This is the one feature I really really want.

Yep. Under the purchase it says "Compatibility with your devices" and has a red X icon next to the Kindle. As that is the only Amazon device I have, I don't know what it is compatible with.

Technically, it's just a generic "cast" icon. Neither Plex nor Media Browser support Chromecast from nuVue at the moment. Just casting to other connected clients. It's still a possibility that I may add support for it for Media Browser in the future. It's a bit of a redesign of the playback functionality, though.

What is wrong with just playing to a chromecast from the web browser or android app?
