Trakt plugin updated to v2 API

Luke

The trakt plugin has been updated to utilize Trakt's new version of their API. After updating the plugin you'll need to reconfigure your username and password.

Enjoy :)

I think this was actually deployed yesterday.

Scrobbling didn't work for me tonight. Looking at logs seems like no response from trakt.

I ran a sync library task, and it marked about 30-40 items as watched at the time I ran the task... did this yesterday too. Now it set all those to watched at the current time along with everything watched tonight. Seems pretty broken...

TBH, I'm ready to uninstall the plugin and stop using trakt entirely.

I don't want this to sound like I'm being nasty, but the new design of the site is worse than the old one, things that worked well no longer work at all. The plugin no longer works properly at all, basically nothing I watched is synced at the correct time/day..It no longer syncs any new movies I watch and it seems to think that I've watched nothing since the 18th Jan at all. Programs are marked as watched when they're not. Any attempt to sync fails or just doesn't do it properly. If you try to mark something as watched the response from the site is so slow you think it's not registered it at all. The whole community aspect seems to have been wiped away as if it never existed.

That's the real issue right there for me... The site has become so slow as to be unusable any more.

Fun when it worked and allowed me to track what/when I was watching... but that's broken and so I see no reason to continue with it.

Cheers for all the work... if ever gets back to a level it was at before, I may reconsider... But it's a terrible shame that something that was good has taken many steps backwards in my opinion.

Not sure if you're aware of the reasons behind the change and issues? It had to be launched prematurely as the old site/infrastructure couldn't handle the load and was bursting at the seams. It's not feature complete as you say. They're working as quick as possible to add back all the features, and then new ones. While I also liked the previous design/look, this one is at least responsive, and scales nicely on different devices.

Breaking the original API also pretty bad. Anyway they've obviously had some serious issues, haven't had a good launch of v2, but at least are trying. Hopefully they get there soon, and can move forward from there.

I really do like the concept, something I've wanted long before it existed.

Scrobbling didn't work tonight either. I'm to scared to run the scheduled task. It seems like it's told trakt I watched 30 odd shows and movies yesterday, and ALSO they day before when I ran it.

I can't see a way to see in Trakt 2.0 if you've watched something multiple times. It only shows the most recent watch? My guess is for most of those Trakt now thinks I've seen them 3 times. Could fix by deleting the more recent views with the old Trakt website interface...

All I've managed to get out of the plugin is:

Sync library to trakt.tv failed.

The remote server returned an error: (502) Bad Gateway.

I've uninstalled / installed the plugin and reset my username and password but cannot get it to sync with Trakt.

I presume it is working for some people???

I've given it a couple more days to see what it did.... here's some fun facts for you.

Today it decided to do some kind of sync...

Now when I check what it's done it tells me that this week I've managed to watch 7.5k  (I assume that's minutes) worth of movies... Not sure if it's caught up with everything it thinks I've watched ever... but there are movies in that list that I've not watched in months and even a few that I've never watched at all yet.

It still hasn't updated anything to do with TV shows since the 18th Jan... and on Jan 16th it seems to think I watched every episode twice, in once case 3 times.

Obviously I don't know what's going on or the reasons for the changes... But this should never have been released in this state... There are more things broken than actually working.

Sorry guys... uninstalling the plugin.

Watched a movie and an episode this evening. Scrobbling worked for the movie and not the episode.

The plugin at this point is behaving like a very poor network citizen. For whatever reason, scrobbling is returning with an error 400. Whatever. But the real problem is that the plugin is just hammering the attempts over and over, numerous times per second! There needs to be a backoff mechanism built into this.
