Media Browser pairs perfectly with Kodi Helix

Team,

Ever since the announcement of the Xbmc to Kodi rebranding, Media Browser communities, call centers and offices around the world have been inundated with phone calls and emails from millions of curious users, all wondering the same thing. Will Media Browser retain it's compatibility after the Kodi name change and Helix release? Today we are here to answer those questions with a resounding yes.

Kodi is a great front-end and we think Media Browser is the perfect companion. Our Kodi add-on team has done a lot of great work for Helix, including incorporating many of the new Live TV features, as well as optimization for low power devices such as the Fire TV.

Also thanks to the efforts of IM85288, we've had a number of new people step up and help with some of the skins he's been working on. As always everything is open source and open to community contribution.

Installation

Download the repository

- Install using System -> Add-ons -> Install from zip file

- Install the Kodi add-on from the repository

- Install your skin of choice from the Kodi repository

I am interested of using media browser with kodi remotely for live tv. Would that work?

Awesome! Great work team!

It would be nice having Titan plugin for MBT

The only issue i face with this plugin and pairing Mediabrowser with Kodi is that it doesn't give same options in library view for sorting as you got if library is part of kodi.

Is there any future direction to introduce sorting of media with this plugin?

I can't get any videos to play, and I'm not sure how the Live TV stuff integrates.  I setup ServerWMC within Kodi, but that's not really using my connection through Mediabrowser.

ETA: Fixed thanks to Xnappo and Angelblue05 in the Kodi subforum.  Turns out I needed to setup Substitution Paths on my MBS in order for it to direct play properly.

The work done by the Kodi (XBMB3C) devs is really amazing, what started out as a simple addon now has tons of features and constant updates, in many ways just like MB3 itself.

I'd like to use MBT as well but I don't have a HTPC, and use OpenElec instead. The great thing about this is I can still use a full featured MBT client on my phone and pc.

btw which skin is that in the screenshots above?

Hey guys, good evening (here in Austria) ;)

I have sometimes the problem that i loose connection to the server after reboot of the machine.?

I use the xf1080 skin and all goes well most of the time.

I use a script to restart my nuc every time after standby (shutdown at the nuc)by a script. But then i can not select any item of the Media Browser plugin. No reaction at all.

The widgets then are empty, after a second restart all works (probably the remote got no response but this could be another problem).

Maybe i upload a actual log later. Maybe the older .log could help as the problem occurs often!

Kodi installs and then I dl the repository, which on my mac with Yosemite is unzipped automatically. Pointing Kodi to the directory or a rezipped file with the files inside just gives en error saying the repository does not have the right structure. Any ideas?

@ breezytm ... i've tried live TV via xbmc (kodi) and have not had good luck with it. I don't use it enough to spend the time to try to see if there is a config that would work. I've never had any major issues with recorded TV or movies.
