VoxCommando puts you in the captain’s chair

VoxCommando is a speech recognition and command utility that lets you take control of your multimedia HTPC (Home Theatre PC). You can add voice control to your home automation, or you can use it as an assistive tool to speed up everyday tasks, to reduce your reliance on the keyboard and mouse, or simply because it is fun to use!

VoxCommando is different from other speech recognition applications in that it is extremely customizable, and is designed to work with a wide variety of other multimedia programs like Kodi (XBMC). VoxCommando is able to achieve accurate speech recognition because it knows what media is in your library, so it knows what commands to listen for.

I try to test with as many devices as I can, but in our living room which is where we use it the most as a normal user would (as opposed to testing and development), my wife and I prefer the Amulet remote, and the VoxWav app for Android.

You will find many discussions on our forum and info in our wiki about microphones.  There are a lot of options with various pros and cons:

In the following video you can see both VoxWav and the Amulet remote (from Amulet devices) in action:

I have installed the voxcommando when i get the login screen For MB it asks for my username (brettm)and password, I am thinking the password is the one i use to login into the forum or do I have to make a password for the MB Server, which i put into password field then it wants server address, I put the information below:

Media Browser Server is up to date

Running on http port 8096, and https port 8920.

Local access: http://192.168.1.4:8096

Remote access: http://124.171.52.238:8096

but which address do I use it has two addresses???

I put in remote access address but for some in the box that shows servers found it is RED, when I put the mouse over it it says authorisation failed. how do I fix this please

Hi Jitterjames

Thanks for your reply I definitely watched the video but I haven't set a password for the server and that's where the confusion came in.

I have a password for the forum but not server, my only concern is if I set a password for the server every time I open the server or when it loads on window start-up I don't want to have to input the password every time.

But I will set-up a password for the server and see what happens.
