Is there any way to purchase Google Play app without a compatible phone? Quite annoying how they don't let you purchase... That phone probably going to get upgraded to OnePlus One phone in the coming months. Same deal with the Windows Phone software... Though I've bought a windows phone and awaiting courier to deliver it, hopefully tomorrow. Also purchased the Windows 8.1 app, will give it a try soon.

If I remember right, then if you have a way of logging into the Amazon App Store just once, you can then buy Android apps from the Amazon website afterwards. Windows Phone works the same way - just log in once and you can buy from windowsphone.com.

You have the option of running an Android emulator to buy from Google Play, but for the £2 saved it's probably not worth the effort.
