Media Browser Server 3.0.5326 Released

This is a small bug fix released designed to resolve a few issues that were introduced with the previous release. Among the fixes are:

  • Degraded performance when retrieving lists of music artists
  • OpenSubtitle password encryption errors in Linux
  • Windows service repeatedly reporting new version available
  • Windows service startup fixes (thanks to simpleimplement-e for the pull requests)
  • Web client backdrop setting not saving
  • Custom order for image extractor not saving

There are also a couple of enhancements:

  • Port 8945 no longer needed (all operating systems. this was previously a requirement with windows 7, linux and OSX).
  • Added album artist saving to music album nfo's.

The next release will have something big. Stay tuned.

Since updating the server, MBC keeps crashing after exiting MPC-HC. Just me??

A little confused, but should this say "5321" instead of "5231" as I have "5309"?

Yes, you can verify by looking at your dashboard and it shows what the pending restart is for: 3.0.5321.35225

Installed latest stable server (3.0.5309.26857), everything back to normal. No more MBC crash...

After installing this version a large percentage of my tv shows have incorrect folder structure. Some seasons are showing up as individual shows. For example, each season of ER shows up as its own show. The structure I use is the same for everything and is the recommended one for mediabrowser.

Edit: I installed the previous stable version and my saved television programs have corrected themselves. Seems to be a problem with the way the new version handles my television programs that are on a mapped network drive.

Just like mrtwopoints. here too a problem with TV series on a mapped drive. They are acting up. Sometimes i can start an episode, sometimes nothing happens. Films are fine. Is there a way to download the previous version of the server?

I can now open my music media folder in Media Centre (yeah!!!).  The only strange thing is that I've noticed at least one album showing up as if it was an artist--which is new.

A bunch of my albums are showing up as artists.  The artist folder no longer shows up in Media Centre.  There are two XML files inside the artist folder--the original one for artist which the system is now ignoring and a new one for album.  The artist artwork has been replaced with an album cover.  I'm attempting to fix these items.  Hopefully they won't be tagged incorrectly again after a media scan.

This is a huge mess.  A large number of my artist folders have been turned into album folders as a result of the new update and I can't fix it.  I have spent hours trying to.  First I tried to remove the bad metadata files (album metadata files were added to my artist folders) and then I did a rescan but that did nothing at all.  I then tried removing all of the XML files for album and artist and did a scan but Media Browser didn't add any new tags.  I then tried removing the artist folder completely, doing a scan and verifying that the artist was gone, removing all XML tags for artist and album, placing the artist folder back in the media folder and doing a scan.  The end result was the album that showed up in place of the artist previously is the only album that shows up in Media Browser and all of the tracks from the other albums show up as if they were part of that one album.  For instance I have a Wire artist folder that shows one album, PInk Flag, and that album has 135 tracks.  The folder actually has 7 albums but the only one that shows up is Pink Flag and the tracks for all 7 albums are under Pink Flag.  A lot of my music is completely screwed up now.  Does anybody know how to fix this?

Good day. Is there a link to download this version?

I would love to get back to it as the latest update causes too many problems.

5322 Install program errors and won't install update.  IO error backup folder is not empty.  Is there a folder I can delete?  Tried twice

On the MediaBrowser download page, click on the Windows icon and select for download and select "Official Release" instead of the Beta.

The problem with the music albums showing up as artists appears to have been corrected.  Thanks for fixing this so quickly.

Installed 5323 from clean on Windows, first time round the quick-start-wizard-thing fell over and I was refreshed into the main settings where I proceeded to set things up. After doing a quick restart of MB I was taken through the wizard, pre-populated with the changes I had made and all seemed ok still.

BTW. The uninstaller doesn't remove all folder/data if they are moved to another location within the settings. I moved everything except logs, only because it's not in the GUI, to another drive and after the uninstall those folders/data were still there. Would be really really nice if the installer asked for where to install MB in the first place - I have a NAS with a small OS drive (60GB) and a stonking great data drive (5TB) - guess where I would rather MB put itself and its data? ;-)

I don't know if I'd put MB itself on a NAS. Wouldn't that potentially give performance issues?

I have MB on my server, with ImagesByName, metadata and content on my NAS.

The "NAS" is a full blown Windows 2012 R2 box dedicated to the task of being my media centre hub, performance isn't an issue and never has been.

Understood. I thought it was a standalone NAS.
