I have been through all the advice i can find on the forums and still can not get "Movies by Genre" and "Music Albums" icons to work.

C:\Users\Lounge\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\ImagesByName\General\Movies by Genre

C:\Users\Lounge\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\ImagesByName\General\Music Albums

These are the paths I'm using. I have been over and over them making sure they are spelt correctly and that there are no spaces in places there shouldn't be. I have restarted the server and rebooted the HTPC but still nothing.

Any further advice would be great. Thanks

Theme is the standard chocolate and the files where called "all movies by genre" and "music" and are taken from Xzener's MB3 EHS fanart icons. I have changed the name of the icons to match the folders on the off chance that might help.

OK - I have some missing with ROC but I think that's a theme related thing.

I have files folder.png & clearart.png (also Xener images) in my IBN folder here: Z:\MB-ImagesByName\General\Music Albums . These then appear in MBC. The alternative is to use the web client to upload the files.

The folder names should be what you indicated.  The image files should be named folder.jpg or folder.png.  Make sure you don't have Explorer not showing extensions such that you actually have a 'folder.jpg.jpg' file.

I'm assuming that when you say folder.jpg you mean the image should be named after the folder it is in. I have done that and checked the extensions and all seem to be in order.

I'm now having a second issue and I'm wondering if it may be connected. I have changed the icons for movies, collections, photos, music and TV series. Out of all of that lot the only one that has updated when i open MBC or MB IOs is photo's. I changed them using the web client.

I have deleted the cache files and updated everything i can find on both the individual metadata pages and on the server page but nothing is changing.

If I was to uninstall MBS and MBC from my HTPC would I loose all the metadata i have altered?

No, when I say folder.jpg I mean the image should be named "folder.jpg".

That did it. I have just been back through the guide and noticed that on all other parts of the guide it mentions folders.jpg but not in general. That will teach me for skipping through half a guide. Sorry to have watsed your time and thank you so much for sorting this out for me i have been pulling my hair out for hours.
