regis 0 Posted August 30, 2014 Share Posted August 30, 2014 Hi everyone: I just install MBC (v 3.0.196.0 7-191). When I open WMC and load MBC, i can access any movie but the play button is grayed out and clicking on play doesn't work. I checked the logs and I can see an error "playing item". Hopefully this will help you to find out if i missed something while configuring the server. I am able to play movies via webmediabrowser so I assume my server can access correctly my NAS where my movies are stored. I am also able to play movies using WMC alone. So I don't think it's a permission problem but I can be wrong. Let me know if you need me to do more testing. ebr 14904 Posted August 30, 2014 Share Posted August 30, 2014 That button isn't greyed out. That is its normal color. But this is a weird one. Basically WMC is saying we are not allowed to play anything. Do you have Live TV going or any other video component inside WMC at the time? Have you hacked WMC with any of the customization tools out there? What codecs do you have installed? regis 0 Posted August 31, 2014 Author Share Posted August 31, 2014 Hi, i uninstalled WMC through windows add/remove feature. I unisntalled MBC . Reinstalled WMC then MBC. I watched a movie using only WMC and no problem so I assume the codec for that movie works. I tried using MBC no luck still the same error. not sure why WMC would play and "tells" BMC not too play. I don't have any other hack/plug in installed and TV live is not working (not sure if there is a way to turn it on/off) but TV cable is not plugged in. Is there any logging feature i can unlocked on the server itself that would help? ebr 14904 Posted August 31, 2014 Share Posted August 31, 2014 The server isn't involved in this operation and those messages are harmless. The same thing is happening as before. We are requesting that WMC play the item and WMC is saying "nope". What codecs are you using? If not LAV I would uninstall whatever you have and try LAV. I also installed the newer version of MBC. not sure if this will ever work.. in any case thank your for your time. Lt me know if there are any tests I can try.
