WMC on win7 and MediaBroswer 3 and Extenders

Hi,

I have been using MediaBrowser 2.x for the last few years, and very happy user.

I am now thinking of upgrading to MediaBrowser 3, but continue to use WMC on win7 as my main setup.  I have few questions, which I could not find the answer to in the main MB site.  (it seems like it just wants you to download and install before you even understand the basics :-) )

Q1: will MB3 work on extenders (like Linksys or Samsung ) or is it limited to Xbox?

Q2: can I migrate my playstate from MB2 to MB3??  I have a huge collection, and that would be a pain to do manually.

Q3: are the themes migratable?? if not, can I buy new themes that are similar to the old ones ? I am currently using 5 different ones but not at the same time.

Q4: I have noticed extended support for devices like android... Will I ever be able to have MB3 on Samsung TV??

Q5: MB2 was free while theme's were chargeable.  Is MB3 going to have the same model ??  is it likely to stay the same over the next 2 years, or is their plans to have it as a chargeable software??

I would normally read the form to answer this kind of question, but to be honest, I am a little disappointed with the forum especially since all the stuff about MB2 has disappeared (or hidden).

thanks and best regars

1: Probably but those boxes are so old and support for them has basically been dropped everywhere so it will depend on exactly what you are playing.  But, if you have them working now with MB 2.6.2 then they will probably still work with MBC.

2: Not directly but, if you have the Trakt plug-in for MB 2, you can sync your playstates to it and then install that same plug-in (server side) in MB 3 and sync them back in (after your library is completely setup).

3: Some themes came over but, really, they are all way out of date now.  None of Throg's themes are available if you were using them.  He left the project (at least for now).  There are several new ones though that take advantage of all the new MB 3 features.

4: Latchmor got for you.

Just wanted to say thanks Chief B. Washer :-), and Latchmor...

Best regards.

I plan to install MB3 tonight, and I read somewhere it can co-exist with the old version, so I can try it until I am happy...

The server can co-exist so you can install that and get your library set up and use the web client to get everything how you like it and working.

However, MBC cannot co-exist with MB 2.x.  When you install MBC, it will replace your MB 2.
