Excluding items from Collections/Box Sets

Hi Ebr,

I just have a question please.

I was wondering if it's possible in either the Auto Box Sets plugin / or My Views section via Preferences to either exclude libraries or specific folders from a Collection view?

What I would like to do in the grown ups (for lack of a better word) login is to just show the grown ups 'collections' and in the Kids login to just show Kids 'collections'.

A possible way would be to show the Collections by honoring the selections in the My Views / Grouping section in My Preferences --> My Views settings.

At the minute the correct movies in a particular library shows OK until you select the 'Group movies into Collections' option to view movies in their collections. Even without the Kids Movies bring ticked in the 'My Views' section the Kids Movie 'collections' start to appear in the available 'Grown ups' Movies section.

Again if I tick the 'Display a collections view to show movie collections' option the Kids movie collections show even though I've un-ticked the Kids Movies from the My View section.

Maybe this is just a sorting issue when pulling the info from the database?

Another option would be to just exclude a folder or a library from being grouped within the Auto Box Set plugin itself. ie not scan the Kids Movies library when the collections are made.

Hopefully I've been able to explain myself clearly. If not please let me know.

Thanks for your hard work.

Adam

To me, this still sounds like the bug where Collections allowed you to see things you shouldn't.  I thought that was fixed but perhaps it wasn't...

If you do the following you'll have an issue.  Not sure how common it is, but it's easily reproduced.

  1. Have at least 2 libraries containing Movie content.  I created Movies SD and Movies HD.
  2. Setup some collections using content from each of these.  Using the example above I have a Collection SD, Collection HD, Collection Mixed.  Each contains a couple of movies of the appropriate type.
  3. In your account preferences uncheck one of those libraries so it no longer consolidates into the Movies View.  I removed Movies SD from my Movies view.
  4. In your account preferences check Group Movies Into Collections.
  5. Save your account preferences.
  6. Open the Movies View and click the Movies tab.  You should see only collections with HD movies, so Collection HD and Collection Mixed.  You see all Collections.
  7. Open the Movies SD View and click the Movies tab. You will only see the Collection SD and Collection Mixed.

So yes, the aggregate views will display collections containing content that's not supposed to be in the aggregated view.
