Managing two tv shows in different languages

Hello together,

mainly I'm watching german tv shows but sometimes I'm also watching a show I already have in english.

For this I've the following folder structure:

TV-Shows

  --> Game of Thrones

        Title in nfo: Game of Thrones

TV Shows (eng)

  --> Game of Thrones

        Title in nfo: Game of Thrones (eng)

But all episodes in the english folder show up in the library in Game of Thrones.

So I've for example in Season 4 all english and german episodes mixed.

Any recommendations how It's possible to show both shows separated, e.g. "Game of Thrones" and "Game of Thrones (eng)"?

Depending on the client you can choose to use folder view rather then tv view.   I don't believe the server had option for this at the moment.

As Logos302 stated with folder view, you will need to set each library location (TV Shows and TV Shows (eng)), then ensure those folders are not grouped in My Preferences on the server.

My prefered Client is XBMC.

So, according to your answers, I can add my Folder "TV Shows" to the TV shows library and add the Folder "TV Shows (eng)" to the "Home videos" library.

In XBMC for the regular TV Shows I would use TV Shows and add a menu entry to the Folder View of "Home Videos".

Hm...It's a shame that this is not possible at the moment :(

I know it works in the web client, don't know about XBMC.  Both should be TV Shows folder type.

I have TV Shows and Kids TV set this way.

TV Shows   Location \\server\videos\TV Shows       ---    Folder type TV Shows

Kids TV       Location \\server\videos\Kids\TV Shows  --- Folder Type TV Shows

Then in my preference I unchecked Kids TV so it wasn't grouped with TV shows.

It is possible to do what I wanted, to have every TV Show Folder in one library and the same TV Show with different names and languages.

I used the Linux Build from MB3-Server and had a lot of connection problems. So I installed the Windows build on an 2008 R2 Server and the connection from xbmc to MB3-Server is since that stable.

With the Windows Build I used the Metadata Manager and changed the Metadata Settings for the english shows to lock the title, so it stays e.g. Game of Thrones (eng), and set the prefered download language to english.

Now I have Game of Thrones, with german metadata, and Game of Thrones (eng) with english metadata.

In the past I did the same with the linux build but nevertheless everything was put together under Game of Thrones.

Thank you all for your tips and help
