Unwanted Folders Showing Up on Airplayer for iOS

Hi Everyone,

I am new to Media Browser, but so far I have really liked what I have seen.

One thing that I find annoying is when I use my iPad to connect to the Media Browser Server.   Specifically, I am using the app called AirPlayer on iOS.

It finds no problem the Media Browser server.   When I go into the Media Browser server, I see 2 folders :

1) Folders

2) Movies

When I go into (1) Folders, I see all my libraries of movies I have intentionally shared out.   This is awesome and works as advertised.

However, when I go into (2) Movies, I see the following list of unwanted folders.

- Collections

- Favorites

- Latest

- Movies

- Resume

How can I disable on Media Browser server from all this unwanted stuff showing up on the AirPlayer iOS client ?   I would be fine if when I went into AirPlayer, I just saw (1) Folders and not (2) Movies with all the other folders I have no use for.

Thanks so much for your help.

UPDATE : The same thing happens when I use any client, even my LG DVD Player.

Trivial.

Have you tried adjusting your views in the web client?

Open the Web client and go to "My Preferences", click the pencil in My View or the user icon in top right corner.

Thanks Happy2Play.

My issue is I am not using the Media Browser client software.   I am using the Media Browser server software only.

The issue is showing up on all my different clients, so the issue is I need to turn something off on the Media Browser server software.

Make sense?

Thanks,

Steven.

You have to use the web interface to control the server.  This is pretty close to what you are looking for.

Yea but it's actually the first tab is where he wants to go. The third tab is only for web client settings.

He might not be able to achieve 100% what he wants at this point so we may have to look at a few more settings. For instance, you can turn off the grouping of multiple movie libraries, but you can't currently turn off the way it gets broken down into "special" categories - latest, all movies, genres, favorites, etc. So those special folders are used in dlna.

We do support Samba. Samba emulates the Microsoft CIFS and SMB protocols.

So, you should be able to use it just like a regular Microsoft Windows network share.

Use a path like \\sambaserver\fileshare\filename.txt

Ya  Thanks Luke and Happy2Play.   I am looking to turn off the broken out way of the special categories.   I don't see this using Nero MediaHome 4 as my server software, but see it using Media Browser as my server software.

Thanks for your help.   Still looking for a way to turn these off then.

Cheers.
