The Windows 8.1 Store App has been playing back recorded TV episodes (in MKV files) just fine, but now it is crashing back to the Windows 8.1 Start Screen with TV media:

The App continues to play movies (also in MKV files) OK.

In my original post, I said this was an issue with MKV files. I've looked again, and it's video.ts files that are causing the problem. MKV files are OK. My satellite receiver records broadcasts as video.ts files. These playback fine in MBT, the MB Web client and WMP, but not in the Windows 8.1 App.

The update is now in store, it should finally work. :)

(Thanks to @@gcoupe for the PM info that helped solving the issue)

While trying to use the (admittedly alpha) Argus TV Plugin, my Win8.1 app also crashes when I hit the live-tv button. Not sure if i'm right to report that here or in the Argus plugin thread.

The problem is that the app doesn't officially support LiveTV yet. It accidentally got included in the release code and is very much untested..

We're working on fixing this, but it will take some time..
