Upcoming Shows not showing up

Can you screenshot the main doctor who (2005) folder in the metadata manager instead of the season 8? I think it will give us more information.

Upcoming is done by region. Are your US shows populating but UK shows are not? Same with AUS/NZ shows won't. As far as I know its likely this limitation haunting you.

Here you go:

I also recently just tried setting the Country under Metadata settings and this does change the studio from BBC One to BBC America and updates the listed Air Time, but that's it. It still does not download the data for the upcoming episodes. (It's also not making an entry for them like it does for other shows).

Is the date added next to your season 8 (2012-12-28) messing up things? I've compared to mine, and that's the only information that is different. In my case, the release date and the date added are the same...

I'm in the US.

Hello,

I am a realitivly new user and am still trying to get 100% of my shows working properly with MB....

I've gotten most of my shows populated (it took FOREVER for this thing to chug through 16 TB of data) but for some reason I can't get it to display Doctor Who (2005) in the Upcoming shows list.

First I did some research and determined you were pulling the data from tvdb. I went there and verified everything was correct on their end. I found a link to another site that pulls the same data (http://trakt.tv/calendar/my-shows) and saw that Doctor Who is populating there. What could I be doing wrong?

My files are currently set up as follows:

NETWORK DRIVE

      Videos

          Still Airing

             Doctor Who (2005 - Present)

                 Season 08

                    Episodes

It FINDS the show correctly and identifies all the current episodes - It just refuses to pull the data for future episodes in the season.

Anyone have any ideas? I've already tried renaming the Show to just Doctor Who (and Doctor Who (2005)) and re-indexing but it didn't help.

I'm fixated on date format. Is there a reason why @@strager has his date format YEAR-MONTH-DAY while mine is MONTH/DAY/YEAR. Could there be an error in processing the air date on his side?

All mine are YEAR-MONTH-DAY, I believe there was a discussion about this awhile ago and this is a region setting.

I just added the series with season 8 folder and preformed a library scan in it appeared in the upcoming (episode name "S08E04-Listen"

But I do agree the added date of 2012 makes it like something is wrong.

I'm going to try removing it and making a blank folder and see what happens.

Any chance someone could send me their metadata file so I could run a diff against mine?

I am in the united states. What do you mean by Region setting? Where do I change this? I don't have any other UK shows that are currently airing (that I know of) to test against.

Angelblue - I have a similar date in all my show names and no other issues that I've noticed thusfar. I also tried it without the date and no change.

Thank you. I actually managed to get it resolved by removing the folder from the drive (well at least outside of where the server could see it) and creating a new "Doctor Who (2005)" folder with a "Season 08" inside (Which itself had a "Doctor Who (2005) S08E00.avi" file inside it as I've found the server doesn't seem to like empty folders) - As soon as the Library was scanned it created the whole structure for Season 8 and I was able to copy the existing Season 1-7's back in.

  • 3 weeks later...

Glad it's not just me, I'm in the UK too and for the past two weeks Doctor Who Season 8 hasn't been appearing in the list of upcoming TV shows on Saturday night. It did to begin with and so I searched on here to see if anyone else was having the same problem.

I just checked my Season 8 metadata and under 'release date' it says '1901-01-01' and under 'year' it says '1' !!!! Date added however is '2014-07-14'

Will try moving the folder and re-adding it but something must have gone wrong here guys surely??

I've noticed that the 'upcoming' section within the browser only shows US shows, anything that is from the UK for example is completely absent.

2 examples that I've noticed are 'Doctor Who' which broadcasts on a Saturday evening, but fails to show up and the other is 'QI' which started a new series on Friday night.

As some one in the UK, who watches many UK TV shows, it's frustrating not to have them in there as a reminder. It's virtually impossible to monitor every channels schedule and see if/when a TV show you like is returning and as a result I missed the fact that a new season of QI was starting last night.

Are there any plans to include TV shows from other regions, where does the browser actually get it's schedule from and can it be altered to include new sources??

OK, now this is weird

I added the two shows last night (QI S12E01 & Doctor Who S08E07)... and the next time I checked the upcoming page within the browser... they had appeared.

That's a little odd... aren't they supposed to appear beforehand... or was this something fixed in the latest server release that updated last night.

EDIT:

Additionally, I noticed this morning that it's saying that the Doctor Who episode was airing at 06:15PM on BBC... when it fact it was being broadcast at 8:30PM on the BBC.

Where exactly is it getting this information from?

When I installed MediaBrowser, my TV Show library was located on my NAS.  I subsequently decided to move it to a shared directory on my PC.  Everything works as it should after the move, with the exception being that the Upcoming episode list no longer tracks series in the library.  If I move the folders back to the original library location on the NAS, air dates for new episodes are shown.  If I add a folder for new series, upcoming episode air dates will only be shown if the folder is created on the NAS.

I can't figure out how to get MediaBrowser to track shows stored on my PC.  Deleting the MediaBrowser library and creating a new one that does not include the NAS location does not fix the issue.  I also deleted the contents of the library, did a library scan, recreated series directories, and rescanned.  Mediabrowser retrieved the metadata for each series and season.  But it still won't track the series in the Upcoming list unless the folders are located on the NAS.

Is there a way to reset the location that MediaBrowser uses to generate the Upcoming show list?

Do you have path substitution setup correctly?

The XML/NFO files might be referencing the old paths, so you I would refresh the meta data for a series to see if that corrects the problem as well.

Thanks for your input jjfunaz.  I do not have path substitution set up at all.  I had MediaBrowser installed previously, and it worked without using path substitution.  So I never spent anytime looking at that feature.  I reinstalled Windows last week, which is why I'm going through the process of setting up MediaBrowser again.  I'll revisit path substition to see if it resolves the issue I'm having this time around.

FYI I have already tried deleting all XML/NFO files and refreshing the metadata.  The refreshed XML files are pointing to the directories where the folders are located on my PC as they should.  But the upcoming episodes list is still not updating.  I can only get it to update by moving the folders back to my NAS where they were located at the time I first installed MediaBrowser.

A bit of an update.  I'm 99% sure that path substitution is not part of the problem.  My TV library already uses UNC addresses to point to the shared NAS and PC file locations.  All of the files are identified in both locations with proper metadata being scraped.  There are no obvious errors in the server log files.

As a next step I completely uninstalled the MediaBrowser Server, including deleting all MediaBrowser related directories under the User roaming directory.  I also deleted all scraped metadata from the media directories on the NAS and the PC.  I then reinstalled the latest Beta MediaBrower Server.  I did not define the libraries during installation.  Instead, I first configured all MediaBrowser settings.  Only then did I set up the libraries.  After the initial library scan, all of the TV shows showed up in the web GUI with the proper metadata information.  Unfortunately, there are still no shows in the Upcoming list.  To make matters worse, the Upcoming list no longer populates for shows stored on my NAS.  So now I'm completely at a loss as to what is going on.

A couple of other things I noticed that might help someone else pinpoint the issue.  Episodes airing yesterday show up in the Upcoming list, but only if the corresponding media files are present.  If I delete the files, the shows are no longer listed as airing yesterday.  Also, unaired and missing episodes are not listed when I view a season for a series even though both those options are selected under User preferences.  Only episodes that are physically present are listed.

I had this issue with recent updates but a reinstall from the website resolved the issue.

Hi

I am also having the same problem as the original poster has mentioned.  Nothing seems to be appearing on Upcoming section with web client.  I have rebuilt my server, removed all xml files and recreated them but yet nothing is showing up under Upcoming.  I am running Server version 3.0.5395.0.  I have attached my log files to help.

I had a problem with upcoming shows that I posted about a week or so ago, I assumed that whatever problem there was had been fixed with the last official release as things seemed normal... But now I'm noticing some odd behaviour again.

First image shows what it looks like right now Saturday 11th Oct... But when I looked at it 24hrs ago it showed QI S12E02 on the Friday and Doctor Who on Saturday... As you can see from the image, QI is now showing for Sunday 12th and is marked as watched (because I watched it last night) and Doctor Who is no longer showing up at all.

upcomingissues01.JPG

In the next image, it shows next weekend and both are showing up correctly once more.

This is the same behaviour as before and it ONLY affects UK shows, everything else which is the US schedule I assume shows up perfectly...

upcomingissues02.JPG

It looks like it's a bug to me in Version 3.0.5395.0.

Not posting any logs as there's been no errors, just missing shows. If you want me to do something specific and post a new log... please let me know.

Additionally, Doctor who is always shown as broadcasting at the wrong time... Each time it appears on the list, the broadcast time states it's 6:30pm... When in fact this entire season has been shown after 8pm (time varies a little as sometimes other shows may over run).

Also of note in the image below, QI XL (which is the extended version of Friday nights episode) is showing tonight at roughly the same time... but isn't being shown on the upcoming schedule... there is no broadcast of QI on Sunday night as the upcoming page says there is. Mock the week shows at that time slot.

It's worth mentioning that after Mock the Week on Sunday night, the excellent film Kinky Boots is on... If you've not seen it before... give it a go. It's a brilliant film with some excellent performances all round and great writing.
