Hello

i'm one of them still has one of them massive energy sucker plasma tv.. as we all know they screen burn quite easily ! (i'll replace it if it ever breaks)

the custom player in mbc has a massive on screen pause icon

my concern is that this is going to leave a screen burn.. i know i can sort this out by customising the screen saver option

but that kinda defeats having a HTPC.. well i kinda don't want it to look like a PC !

so perhaps on the next release it can shift position round the screen bit by bit?

Have you installed the MBC backdrop screensaver - that looks really good and not like a standard PC screensaver.

Then if you're going to pause for an extended period, press stop instead (you can then hit resume to restart later), and the MBC screensaver will kick in after your configured time period.

I'm away from my PC but I remember ebr mentioning an on/off toggle for the pause icon in the settings so have a look there.....

But now the obvious question, won't pausing anything on ur TV long enough burn it into the screen, whether it be the big pause icon or the image of the movie u just paused (without the pause icon)? lol

You can turn this off in the config page but as battle says, you will have this problem regardless if you pause for an extended period.  So the proper thing to do is either not pause for and extended period or let the screen saver kick in - that is what it was originally designed for.
