So besides media browser /media setups what other computing based projects do you have going in your spare time.. I'm currently running speaker cables all over my house from little DACs that are connected to raspberry Pi's which will act as squeeze box players.

I used to have a carpc...keyword used to...In the end I realized that I should have spent more on the fabrication of the screen into my existing bezel where the radio was, a friend did a good job, but the screen's touch interface adhesive melted from heat one summer and the lcd behind it slid...that coupled with a few small issues were annoying...but it was awesome while it was functional and the sound quality was unbelievable. Software is called Centrafuse. Worked well overall.

Oh well. Guess I'll stick to HTPC's and such :) .

I am thinking something along the same sort of line when I can get my arse in to gear.. I'm thinking to stick in a nexus tablet permanently hooked on to a small amp and use a car frontend app.

I just recently hooked up the raspberry pi with a webcam to my garage door so I can use my Android phone to open it and check the live stream if I forget to shut it or want to check. I've had a few issues when shutting it via my phone it will go down, but then go back up. So not reliable just yet.

Sounds like an interesting project saajan, will have to look into it next.

Ahh I've done this with Zwave. Not really smart though I guess, just home automated, having the ability to change it with my phone and set variables is nice (thought I haven't played around with that yet).
