Kent 91
Hi, I know probably one of those topics that might frustrate some, especially those who have very beefy systems and don't have to worry about such things, but bare with me...and a simple answer is fine for me (looking into it, not a priority, it's there but you suck and are not using it, etc). Soo...any chance for HA transcoding, especially mpeg2 which is my big issue at the moment trying to transcode those .ts live TV streams to multiple clients. I have a low power AMD A8-7600 running at 65W and she just isn't fast enough to handle more than one transcoding job. H.264 transcoding is superb and ffpmeg (libx264?) apparently uses some kind of HA using the AMD GPU cores (6 of them) but mpeg2 transcoding is barely keeping up with the FPS. Open up two Live TV streams and one of them chokes. Logs attached. Stream #0:0: Video: h264 (High), yuv420p, 1280x544 [sAR 799:800 DAR 47:20], SAR 1:1 DAR 40:17, 23.98 fps, 23.98 tbr, 1k tbn, 47.95 tbc (default) transcode-8820f0c3-4b88-4c54-a331-8f85105b9487.txt.txt Stream #0:1[0x1011]: Video: mpeg2video (Main) ([2][0][0][0] / 0x0002), yuv420p(tv), 1280x720 [sAR 1:1 DAR 16:9], max. 19392 kb/s, 59.94 fps, 59.94 tbr, 90k tbn, 119.88 tbc transcode-3e87edc0-57a7-4a65-899b-d76406dd9081.txt.txt Of course, I could be mis-configured and/or reading these logs wrong but it looks like h.264 has accelerated transcoding but mpeg2 does not.
