I have a windows box running MB Server using the UNC path to my unRAID server.

All working fine apart from not being able to see a folder that it use to be able to see.

Anyway I have installed the MB Server plugin for unRAID and and im able to connect to it from the client and web browser.

I have installed the backup config plugin on my windows box and run a backup and completed fine.

I have restored it on the unRAID box without any errors, but here is the problem (I think as it ddnt give any errors)

It has restored the file paths as the original UNC paths (which I would expect it to) but the unRAID box isn’t able to find it’s self using a UNC path, the media scan fails.

If I change the file paths to /mnt/user0/sharename it works fine but the next problem I have is that it has not picking up any watched status of the shows.

So is this possible to achive?

As for the file paths I don't think there is anything we can do there.  If you are changing environments such that these paths will be different you should just re-setup the library in the new environment.

As for the watched status' I have no idea without seeing the logs from the backup and restore.  They are both in the folder with the backup.

I have just done a fresh backup and clean install on unRAID and have done a resotre.

I have changed one of the library paths and im letting that sync at the moment, but at this stage it isnt looking promising that it marking watched shows as watched.

I have attached both logs.

Backup.log

Restore.log

Okay, Lizzard is the only one that was restored.  Is that the only one you selected?  Are you sure they aren't being restored?  If you restore to the same machine does it work?

Yes i only selected to restore Lizzard as thats all i really use.

I havent restored to the existing server  yet but i will stand up another windows VM box and restore to that and see if it works.

I have uploaded screen shots of both web interfaces, the Windows box has the watched shows marked and the unRAID shows as being unwatched

Windows http://tinypic.com/r/j9lhtx/8

unRAID http://tinypic.com/r/96mjdc/8

So a question to ask is does the watched status have any reference to the original file paths?

Not as long as all your items are properly identified with tmdb/imdb IDs on both ends.

Are you looking at only TV or also movies?

I'm more I'm interested in the TV shows at the moment.

When I have tested on a fresh a fresh install of windows I will let you know how it went. I will try and get it done tonight.

ok,

So i have it working now.

I restored a backup to a windows 8.1 VM and let it build the library, once finished it was shows the tv shows as being seen.

i made a backup of the Win 8 VM and restored it on to unRAID and chage the file paths and let the library build.  it shows tv shows as watched.

took another copy of my main MBS and restored it on a fresh install of MBS on unRAID chage the media locations to /mnt/user0/share name let it build the library and its now showing shows as watched.

Nothing was done different so not sure why it never worked before, but all good now.
