Connection Invalid - Except It's Not

The WP 8.1 app has been working for me, but today when I fired it up, it is reporting that the connection is invalid:

However, the connection details ARE valid; if I touch the link, then the web client opens and works as expected:

I tried to send the logs, but touching the "Send logs" link in the app does nothing - the mail client does not open up.

I've tried restarting the phone, and the problem is still present.

WP app version is 8.0.62.1

Server version is 3.0.5424.1

WP 8.1 is version 8.10.14192.280

What OS is MBS running on? You may need to put a full machine name in (for example, if on 2012 R2, it could be something like myname.domainname.local). I realise you don't need to do that in IE, but for some reason within the app it's required.

In terms of the logs, go to the about page, swipe across to the logs, then tap clear logs. This should then allow you to send logs when the problem next presents itself.

I've found on windows server 2012 r2 essentials if I use the domain name it registers(user.remotewebaccess.com) it works everytime but using the internal server name it doesn't. More than likely something to do with my server as the server name times out sometimes accessing it from local machines - which it does quite a bit on windows 8.1, not so much on 10 preview. Might be something to look at though as it may not be the app.

Thanks. I've sent you a log this time.

Still can't connect. MBS is running on a WHS 2011 system.

I still can't connect, even when putting in the public hostname (e.g. Myserver.homeserver.com). However, using this in IE gets me into the MBS dashboard without issue...

Got the log thanks, I will need to speak with @@Luke and find out what's happened here, as you're getting an unauthorized response back from the server, which I didn't think you would be (not in the released version). Leave it with me.

I have the same problem. Can't access the server through my app, but when I click the link the web client opens and it works.

It happens no matter if I use the local ip address at home or the remote address to access the server from work.

I think I may also be having a similar issue while attempting to connect manually inputting my ipv4 address. The app is just perpetually "Authenticating..." but never finds the server. And clicking on the link takes me to the webpage as expected.

This is the first time I've used MB since the update and I wasn't having any issue with the previous version.

I'm running WP8.1 developer version 8.10.14203.306 if that has any bearing.

Can you email the logs (from the about page).

Logs sent :)

edit*: I had to clear logs first since the Send Logs buttons on the manual connection page and on the about page weren't working. Good job you mentioned that above lol

same error. I use Server 2012 r2 with the essentials role. I also use it as a webserver on port 80 and 443. Mediabrowser works on port 80 as well. A couple of weeks ago, it was no problem to sign in from the app. But now it says the connection details are invalid. Touching the link it open the webclient in IE and everything works fine
