ptrs 2
I have developed a subtitle plugin for Media Browser Classic. It currently fetches data from these sources: OpenSubtitles Subtitleseeker And some more on the way (maybe yify and aliensubtitles) Basically you can chose to interact with it through the GUI or you can let the plugin chose the best subtitle for you. You can manually download or you can let it download before playing an item. I support ISO 639-1 naming convention. It can delete bad subtitles and so on. It has some other features as well. I works great on Classic but I’m currently moving the download part to MB3 server so that it can support other clients as well. Currently implemented subtitle downloading support in Media Browser is only server-side and triggered by schedule, this plugin enables user to initiate a download from the client. This first version will use the client as downloader and the next version will have this functionality on the server. The client will then be used just for interaction. ptrs
ebr 14855
I think we need to wait for your second iteration. MBC should not be downloading things into/directly modifying the library. That is the server's domain and needs to remain controlled by it. So, really, what we need to be looking at doing is making sure either the main API exposes an interface to allow an app to interact with it. Then you could build a plug-in for MBC or any other app that would allow control from the UI. @@Luke - how do you feel about this?
ebr 14855
@@ptrs - I just added you to the dev group so that we can discuss in more detail what you'd like to do over there. Welcome aboard!
muppen 0
Been testing and using the beta of this plugin and it really adds a lot of value crushing this missing feature. It has been a solid performance and implementation. Would be great to see it running server side and thereby being accessible for all MB clients. Hope you can work things out
