MBT and Fast Forward

Hi folks,

I'm in the MediaBrowser since 2.x on the WMC and recently I got a few little hicups wich lead me to look at the XBMC including XBM3C. I instantly admired the fluid fast forward and thought "Why didn't it look like that on MBT?"

After switching back to MBT, I realized what was wrong. MBT is lacking Fast Forward. I only have "skip forward" and "next chapter".

Is there any possibility to enable fast fordward? Is this feature coming up in a foreseeable future?

Just wondering because that feature is present in MBC (albeit being choppy / crashing because of codec issues which I never got around to resolve).

Thanks for MediaBrowser and the great thing you are doing.

Kind regards,

+1 for those that don't use a keyboard that would be great.

What are you using? It has been awhile, but pretty sure you can map that combination with Harmony remotes.

If we could set the skip forward duration to something bigger than the current 10 seconds, that would be ideal for me. Between a 30 second skip forward and chapter skips, I would have no need for fast forward.

You can also ffwd with the F key. There is one difference in MBT than some other players (Kodi as an example) in that if you use ffwd and then hit the Play button, it doesn't just stop fast forwarding. You have to hit the rwd button (shortcut on a keyboard is either ctrl + left arrow or the R button).

It was a little confusing to me when I switch over from Kodi to MBT as all the other buttons function the same as they do in Kodi except those. There is no rewind button. If you hit what is normally rewind it just slows the video down. You have to hit the ffwd button again to get back to normal speed of playback.

Probably giving my age away as to how long I've been using mediacentre; For skip forward/backward configuration, the following registry hack works with Win7. Not sure about MB Server players (MBT) but sure the developers have just followed standard media playback registry items; or Win8 tho suppose one could always search for the appropriate reg key. As always - it's wise to backup the registry before applying any hacks.
