Hi guys.

Im very interested in the idea of having my content (1.6 TB) in the cloud and let mediabrowser handle it (with metadata and even the transcoding if possible.) in order for me to stream it (to XBMC and mediabrowser "app") when im at my parents or inlaws place or something. Is it possible? If yes where can i go to get a service thats big enough without problems?

But wouldnt i get ALOT of buffering trying to transcode a 1080p movie via onedrive/mediabrowser? I mean it takes some CPU/ram power

Another problem seems to be that onedrive only allow files upto 10gb pr file to be uploaded and im pretty sure i have some movies that are over the 10gb mark :/

Edit: i know that for about 10-15 GBP a month ($16-24) i can get a 2tb plex media server in the cloud but tbh im not that interested in plex media server (tried it and for me i had alot of errors so went away from it again) and i think its quite expensive tbh for 2TB

You are going to have that issue with any true cloud storage solution so you would have to transcode your content down to a smaller more streamable size.

Or you could use our system to basically create your own cloud.  The combination of MB Server on your server and MB Connect, gives you what you are trying to achieve - access to your content from wherever you are.

I really would like not to count on my own internet/hardware and just have my NAS as a backup (and as far as i know it cant transcode a 1080p movie.. synology DS213+)

i know zxhost offers (as i mentioned in the post before) a plex media server that can transcode 1080p movies but as i said i think $24 for 2TB is semi expensive.

Get yourself a dedicated server, install MBS on it and upload your content. Voila, you have a cloud server. Have a look at www.kimsufi.co.uk, I'm sure there are many other options.

I recall reading a post on here where someone said he was running MBS and his content remotely. Worth a search?
