Toonguy 4 Posted January 18, 2015 Share Posted January 18, 2015 I appear to be running 1.78. Sometime last week, the interface has had some sort of glitch. The libraries default to alphabetical order and I cannot get them to list most recent or next to be played. I can no longer change the order in which the libraries appear on the screen and I cannot change the appearance of the icons. In general, it looks like a lot of options and control has vanished. The other views will not. Is this what you mean? Without more visible context is hard to tell from your text what you mean. The appearance of the icons, and the order of views must be changed in the web client under that users profile. The roku will respect changes to views and icons. Toonguy 4 Posted January 19, 2015 Author Share Posted January 19, 2015 I will see what I can do, but in the meantime, until last week, the Mediabrowser for Roku functioned in much the same way as its predecessor. In other words, each library (Movies, TV, etc.) had an icon to the left of the row that would take you into that library where you could browse more thuroughly, by first letter, genre, etc.) Image is attached. Now not only is that icon gone, but going into the library (via the collections row) no longer offers the first letter and genre sorting options). To the right of that icon was a second icon that let you toggle the sorting of the rest of the row - most recently added, next in queue, etc. That icon is now also gone and the sorting is now stuck at alphabetical order for the entire library. It's as if something changed overall with the channel, but my system is only showing the changes it understands. As things are now, the app is very difficult to use. The example below is what I am used to seeing. The first two icons in each row no longer appear. Also, only poster images from the library are being used, after being compressed vertically. For some reason, it likes to advance the first row when I'm making selections elsewhere (such as logging off from the server). I used to have my menu show movies, then TV, but that option is no longer available. I'm afraid I'll have to delete the music collection alltogether. Are you sure you've left your TV, Movies, and Music folders as grouped for default views? Only default views get the extra treatment ( the folder selector, and the toggle for latest/etc ). These will only exist on default views. If you uncheck the box for grouping this row will not get any extra treatment. It will be grouped alone. Here is how my roku looks: Notice my TV and Movies have the selector, and toggles because of the grouped view I chose. My images differ as I try out other styles. In honesty, I didn't test uncheck/ungroup on my movies, TV, or music. I just assume this would "break" it as this is the implied behavior by unchecking them, it would ungroup them into a single line view. Happy2Play 8242 Posted January 20, 2015 Share Posted January 20, 2015 (edited) I see what you are saying in reference to "Collections" for example, when I checked display collections view, it showed Collections without the folder selector, and the toggle for latest/etc. But I don't get how OP got Movies to display that way. Edit-Unless Movies has been scrolled left or right to not show the folder selector, and the toggle for latest/etc. Collections are displaying properly when using "Display a collection view to show movie collection" is checked (same at OP posted in screenshot). Since I set separate Movies, Kids Movies, TV, Kids TV, and Music libraries they all appear when ungrouped. For example Kids Movies and Movies have their own Library/toggle. Toonguy 4 Posted January 25, 2015 Author Share Posted January 25, 2015 Folks, I've tried just about every configuration I can think of for the profile and even set the dashboard to show the backgrounds instead of posters and sort by most recent and unplayed. Nothing seems to have changed. It's like something vanished when the Roku player got updated (something that might have been relegated to the MB server, I don't know) but some part of either the Roku player or even the MB server didn't make the transfer. So my Roku is still forced to show the libraries in alphabetical order with poster view (those posters crushed to background view) and no options to change the sorting. What have I missed?
