Not getting metadata for dated episodes

I have the following folder structure:

 

TV\At Midnight\At Midnight_yyyy-mm-dd.ext

 

I checked the TV naming guide and this would seem correct to me for dated episodes.  I dont get the metadata automatically or by refreshing in the metadata manager.  To be more clear, the xml files are generated, but they dont contain useful data--the airdate is extracted but episode names (guests on the show in this case) are not grabbed.

 

Any ideas? Thanks!

Tvdb isn't using yyyy-mm-dd for episodes with @midnight. It is using s2015e01 format. To get the data from tvdb you have to match their indexing.

What can I use as a "middleman" to automate then as episodes are never obtained in SyyyyE## format. They are always in a dated format. Thetvdb api supports looking up episodes by airdate if you have the series ID... I thought media browser might handle that for me?

Even if the dated episodes issue is due to a mismatch between my files and thetvdb, does these errors point to an issue getting metadata automatically?  I have been seeing this problem with various shows recently seemingly at random.  Refresh button in metadata manager fixes it, but I cant see why it wont work automatically.
