Hi all,

never really bothered with 3D in the past but have recently started re-ripping my blu-ray (the 3D ones) so that I have the option to watch them in 3D.

so i bought a licence for stereoscopic player and it plays them great. now my issue is how do i launch it from MBT. i have setup an external player but theres no way to differentiate 2D mkv's and 3D mkv's so i have the issue where they all launch in stereoscopic player on none of them do.

any ideas?

Maleficarum

I think the way people used to do it was to give the files a new extension e.g. .mkv3D and then configure the external player to kick in for that file leaving regular 2d files played in the internal player. I don't know if this is officially supported or not though.

First make sure you're media is labeled correctly https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/3D%20videos

Then in the external player settings in MBT add an external player, select the extensions, mkv, mov, whatever you want, and select the 3D option under video type.  You now have 3D videos launch in external player.

ye i have it all labelled correctly but if i set the external player to play mkv and video type 3D it plays all my mkv files in the external player.

for now i have renamed the files .mk3d will see how that works out.
