dave5564564 0
Hi, I currently have a relatively modern laptop (with a core i7, 8 gigs of ram) with Media Browser installed w/ServerWMC. I was wondering if I purchase a HDHomeRun CONNECT, would that be able to produce live tv that I could watch on my tv through my Roku3? The reason I don't watch directly on the tv is that the OTA reception on my TV is terrible (it's tv specific, not specific to my location). Further, in the above suggested setup (note all is done via ethernet cable), would I be able to, on the roku: (1) pause/rewind/fast forward live tv (2) start watching currently recording programs from the beginning (e.g., if I have a recording set for 8pm to 10pm, could I start watching at 845pm and fast forward through the commercials to end at around 10pm?) (3) watch the closed captioning stream on the roku too? Thanks guys
krustyreturns 191
I don't know about the roku3 so I can't comment on that 1) Certainly pause will work, I don't know about FF and RW 2) Yes you can start watching from the beginning on an active recording, but the FF depends on the above. 3) CC is not currently working. legallink 187
I have this setup. Krusty's answers hold true for the Roku3 although pause is sometimes finicky. Ff and RW have worked for me, but we rarely watch the same show that is recording. We prefer post mcebuddy processing.
