HTPC23 4 Posted February 22, 2015 Share Posted February 22, 2015 I get the following error when trying to play certain movies (Star Trek: Into Darkness, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol) Error There was an error processing the request All my other movies work just fine. All my movies are my blu-ray rips into mkv format. Running MediaBrowser Server version 3.5.5518.7 under Windows 8.1 on my HTPC. (logs attached) Running MBT version 3.0.5502.28903 on that same HTPC. (logs attached) If I try and play the same movies on my Windows 8.1 phone via the MB app it plays just fine. If I try and play the same movies on my main desktop or laptop both running Windows 8.1 via MBT (same version) it also plays just fine. Confused on it not being supported as it works on my client machines running MBT but not on the HTPC which runs both MB Server and MBT. Thanks for your assistance. Had my server down for a few weeks while I upgraded to a new case, added some drives, etc. Upon start up Media Browser Server showed new version to update, which I performed. Now at least 50% of titles "error processing request" but all movies playback perfectly using an external player (TMT6) over the network. Tried re-installing both the server and clients with latest downloads from MB, but no joy. Really stumped this time, help appreciated???? HTPC23 4 Posted March 6, 2015 Author Share Posted March 6, 2015 Sorry to hear your having the same issues gmanhdtv but at least that makes me feel a little better that its not an isolated incident which I would assume would be harder to fix. I was having the issue before and ended up doing a full OS reinstall from scratch but that still didn't help. HTPC23 4 Posted March 13, 2015 Author Share Posted March 13, 2015 So not sure why I didn't try this earlier but went ahead and installed MB Windows 8.1 app on the HTPC (which is my MB Server also). Hoping it would work this way but still wouldn't play those movies. Getting 'The video failed to play' error. Again these movies work on all my other machines (main desktop, notebook and W8.1 phone) with no problem. Just don't seem to work on the PC running MB Server itself. I hope it is high on the list of issues to fix (or at least addressed in the re-write). This affects basic functionality you will expect from a media application but there is silence on the issue from the devs and no word on when the overhaul will be ready ("when it's ready") or even if it addresses this. The good news, this will soon be a thing of the past. If you have a problem with the playback engine I need to know about it to fix it. I don't know what the current process is for issue escalation, but I don't have time to wade through the forums to find potential problems.. It's a bit OT here, but I'm curious why you assert this. It's quite bold given the competition, this "Does not do de-interlacing, so if you are going to play interlaced materials, make sure you enable deinterlacing via LAV Video Decoder", and that it requires users to manage the filter installations personally. Also curious about the integration, are you hosting it in your WPF app (similar in concept to how modern revs of PowerDVD work) or is it used as an external player? If you've selected the AVR as the target device explicitly then the device is rejecting the HBR format. The most likely cause is that the HDMI Audio Driver isn't installed, or functioning, properly. Are you using the Intel® Display Audio driver? If not, try reinstalling the GPU drivers, if that doesn't work, open up Device Manager find the audio driver and manually select it. HTPC23 4 Posted March 16, 2015 Author Share Posted March 16, 2015 Looks like I was on Intel HD Graphics Drives version 9.something. I upgraded it to the latest version; 15.28.23.64.4101. I assumed I was already at the latest as I just did a brand new Windows install on that box; so lesson learned - don't assume. Screenshot... BOOM!!! Working like a charm now.
