Hello, I've been using mbt for a while now and it works great.  I decided to try out madvr and mpc-hc but it doesnt seem to be able to find my mkv's.

All my mkv's are located on a desktop computer that runs 24/7, mbt is installed on my living room htpc.  Using the internal player my movies load fine but when i setup mpc-hc as an external player, press play on a movie, mpc-hc loads up but i get a pop up with the proper path to my mkv but its saying it cant be found.

If i close that pop up and click file/open in mpc-hc the same path shows up and pressing enter will play the movie.

How do i get mpc-hc to properly load my mkv's?

Thanks for any help you can provide

Are you using UNC paths in your library setup on the server? If you are using direct paths to the local files on the server you can try using the path substitution option. Sounds to me like MPC is receiving the path to a file it does not have access to. Can you manually open the video on the server in MPC-HC on the client PC?

Use

\\ComputerName\SharedFolder\

instead  of

D:\SharedFolder

Hello thanks for the reply... I do have mb configurator setup to look at folders that are located on the same pc's d: drive

I will go into configurator and change the folder locations to the network shares.

Thanks for the advice
