FR: FFMPEG run at BELOW NORMAL priority for the Sync Process

The sync process for me runs at really low cpu usage <10%, if that is not sufficient changing the priority will do nothing.

What i would suggest doing is for the sync job to be run on a schedule in the middle of the night to not interfere with (anything at all really). This is easy enough to change :)

What he says makes sense.  You would want sync transcodes running "below normal" and real time ffmpeg processes running at "normal".  This way they don't compete with each other.

Spaceboy

Problem is what is in the middle of the night for one user may not be the same for a second

In my case, I synced a TV show "The Profit".  I had 15+ FFMPEG processes.   If each was limited to 10%, that still causes issues on the 9+ thread.

PS - Are you sure FFMPEG it's limited to 10% CPU?

I have never seen more than 1 instance at a time, on the other hand i have only synced 1 item at a time :) didn't think of that.
