Problems Accessing WMC from web--- I had it working

I am not sure where it went wrong.  I had it up and running for a while.  I traveled this weekend and was able to stream recorded TV without a problem.

Today, I am unable to access it at all.  I rebooted the computer and Server WMC.  No Luck.

I THINK my ports are wrong---even though I did not change them and they worked 2 days ago.

I have attached PICS.  post-19001-0-94606700-1425415135_thumb.jpg++

Media Browsers Settings shows the following:

"Running on Port 8096, and https port 8920

Local access http://192.168.1.23:8096

Remote access http://xx.xxx.xx.xxx:8096

ServerWMC General Tab shows:

"Port number for client connection:9080

I CAN access it on my LOCAL network

http://app.mediabrowser.tv/index.html

I can't access it from remote access:   http://xx.xxx.xx.xxx:8096

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.    I had a hard time setting it up the 1st time--- and never really figured out what I did to make it work.

I can upload my log if it is needed.

Should I make sure all of the ports are the same for the server WMC, and the browser remote access?

No idea why it just stopped working.

I edited your post(s) to remove your external IP address, and merged your topics that you posted in multiple forums.

You might check to see if the issue is firewall-related. Some users have reported a need to re-create their firewall rules for media browser after a server update.

bigjohn,

Thanks...  for removing the IP.

Should the Ports be the same for the server WMC, and the browser remote access--or keep them different?

I will check the firewall when I am home.

Different ports are required, I think. Your problem appears to be accessing Media Browser Server at all from outside your network, not just live tv using the Server WMC plugin.

Something else to check would be your router. Make sure you are still port forwarding the ports. Make the router crashed or something funky.

Or maybe the IP address of either the router (the external address) or the MB server machine changed...

I logged into the router....   what should I port forward?

Do I list the local IP the Remote IP or both?

What about the Server WMc?   I have a port---but not the IP.

This is the settings in the software.

Local access http://192.168.1.23:8096

Remote access http://xx.xxx.xx.xxx:8096

ServerWMC General Tab shows:

"Port number for client connection:9080

You will need to tell it the port you will hit on the outside. 8096 for example and then the internal port as well as the internal ip.

How would I check this?

I checked the firewall...  There were two MediaCenter Extension listed.  One was only Private, the other was Public.  I made both Private and Public

From your settings, I am not seeing anything wrong. You might try remotely and report back.
