theme music

I been having trouble with theme music and videos. In the plugin section we use to have to download the free theme music and video plugin, but MBC has been updated

to play theme music and videos on its own. So the plugin is no longer available . My problem is each time MBC is updated it would remove the DLL from the folder and 

my theme music and videos would not play. My computer was acting up so I thought that was the problem, so on a fresh computer install  still having the same problem.

 

On fresh computer install.

 

I'm using version 3.0256.0 of MBC

Setup MBC correctly with Active Backgrounds check.

 

server version 3.0.5518.7

works fine.

 

MBC would not play any of the music or videos. But after installing the DLL and the xml files in the correct folders everything works fine again.

 

I have everything set up correctly (I think). I just don't understand why they won't play without the dll and the xml files.

You'll need to get rid of the dll, then navigate to something that is supposed to have theme music and post the MBC log.

 

Does the theme music work in any other app?

_{Ebr, the only app I use is sever and classic. like I said in my first post did fresh install of server and classic, theme music and videos would not work in classic. But theme music would play fine on server end. I hope this the log would asked for.}

Can you tell me something from that session that is supposed to have theme music but it didn't play?

I use theme music in my collections (boxsets). From the picture above for example Captain America collection

have in folder

movie 1

movie 2

theme-music folder

when I enter main folder my theme music should play but it doesn't.

 

If I put back the DLL file it will work like it should. (enter Captain America collection main folder and theme music will play.)

Okay, so this is only happening on your manually created, file-system based box sets?  This may be an issue with that structure since it is no longer a documented feature.

 

Does it work properly for a regular TV show and movie?

Forget about the dll - I don't believe it was using the server API at all and was just going directly at the media folders.

 

Did you try it in a TV show or movie as I suggested?  I need to know if it is working under any circumstance because I don't see any errors in your log for this.

I don't have any TV shows.

But I put the theme music in one of the movie folders and when I entered the movie folder, the theme music played. 

 

boxsets use to work so well but now on the server side it's setup ridicules. I have a lot of box sets movies, all I want is for

to work like they use to..

 

 

My music videos backdrops do not work either without that DLL file installed as well Like. I said once that

DLL file is installed everything works like it should.

Hey Ebr, I installed the latest version of MBC v 3.0.258.0 and still having the same issues with theme music for movie box sets and video backdrops for music artist.

 

1. Removed ThemeVideoBackdrop.dll  and the xml file from MBC plugins.

2. Started MBC went into Configurator and unchecked enable active backgrounds and show video backdrops.

3. Restart MBC.

4.Whent back into the configurator and rechecked  enable active backgrounds and show video backdrops.

5. Restart MBC.

6. After MBC loaded, went into movie [boxset] collection folder theme-music would not play. Went into a music artist folder video backdrops would not play.

 

So I went into mediabrowser-server/data/collections and created boxset folder. Restarted server and metadata was downloaded. installed theme-music folder

restarted server. Once the server loaded, I went into the boxset folder, theme music would play. So I started MBC, a collection entry was created and when I would enter

a collection folder. The movies would show up, but theme music does not play. I went into music artist, video backdrops would not play. 

 

 I removed the collection folder I created from the server (restarted). I put back the dll and the xml files into MBC plugins folder

and everything works fine again. Theme-music and video backdrops will not work if I remove the dll and xml file from MBC, no matter what settings I select In configurator.

On the server side, theme-music will play correctly. But I haven't figured out how to make video backdrops work.

You are removing the Collection.xml file?  Don't do that.

If you go to a browser and paste in the following in the address line:

So you got it to work?  That's interesting as it is returning the theme items there.  I don't know why they aren't playing for you.

is there something special I have to do to these folders themselves In order for them to work without me having to put back the dll and xml files

What is the proper way to add theme music and video backdrops to my [boxset] collection and music artist folders?

 

Should I buy or get  any plugins from the store, you feel would help ?

Okay, well, I looked at one of your logs you posted and it said you were using Subdued.

I just installed it once and removed it. Chocolate is the only one I use.
