crazybbs 24
Hi, I would like to code a plugin who could enable a virtual remote control to send command to the ir blaster I've. In canada, we don't have cable card, so I'm using a STB box plugged in a hauppauge HD-PVR. the live tv work fine and the base command like selecting channel work well. but the problem I've is my STB have his own On demand channel and PVR so I've to send specific remote command that Live TV don't support. With a virtual remote control I could send specific command. I've javascript, html5 and jquery experience but I don't know where to start to begin this plugin. If someone could help me to start I would appreciate it. Thank you, Edited March 5, 2015 by crazybbs
ebr 14904
Wouldn't something like EventGhost do this already?
crazybbs 24
@@ebr I quickly checked eventghost, but i'm not sure this could resolve my problem From outside of the lan, I would like to contol STB on demand function from my phone, tablet or any device I've on hand. From lan, I already have a harmony remote so it's not a problem.
Scott D 62
With the changes to the cable STB's and signals sent, the Hauppauge can't scan the signals coming down the line. I have been using a Slingbox 350, and trying to figure a way to get this functionality into Emby as well. I have a single DirecTV genie box that I would like to interface to Emby through the Hauppauge. Same desires here with being able to change the channel using an IR blaster when outside the local network. Emby works like a charm on the Hauppauge and OTA signals. Adding either Slingbox or an IR Blaster function would make EMBY a "One Stop" way to cut the cable. Hopeful that interest in the concept is renewed.
