ExMPBob 2
Hi All, Per my username I'm a current MediaPortal user looking to port over to Kodi/Emby. So far it's looking great especially the hint that there might be a package for Synology soon. I'm trying to work my way through the small things I can't find to replicate from my MP experience and I apologise in advance if I ask something that's already been answered or seems easy. But rest assured I have searched the forum before asking! Something we currently do in MP is add an entire series to a playlist - for example, all seasons of Seinfeld - and hit play on random. It's just background noise but it's something we do often, particularly with kids shows for little one. Any ideas from anyone how to make a full Series playlist or say "Play full series". Doesn't have to be able to shuffle but that would also be great!
im85288 1493
In the context menu there's a play all from here option.
ExMPBob 2
Thanks for that. But that only works within a single season, correct? In the meantime though I've figured out how to make playlists on the server and that basically fulfils our need!

The default kodi library puts an "All Episodes" collection inside each Series under TV Shows. I personally hate and turn this off (with advancedsettings, but it will be a gui option in isengard finally) but it could be quite useful for what you were wanting. If you entered one of your Series, like Seinfeld for example, the first item would not be "Season 1" but instead the entire series, followed by Season 1, 2, etc. You should be able to play all from that "all episodes" collection without issue

Running the emby beta on Kodi 14.2. Cheers.
Angelblue05 4130
advancedsettings is an xml in your Kodi directory. If it doesn't exist, you need to create it with notepad. Here's all you need to know with all the possible settings: : http://kodi.wiki/view/Advancedsettings.xml I have my "All Episodes" at the bottom of my list, since I don't always use it, but like to have it for quick playlist creation. <advancedsettings> <videolibrary> <allitemsonbottom>true</allitemsonbottom> </videolibrary> </advancedsettings> Don't hesitate if you have more questions. Ah cool, I'll do that. Thanks. Wonder why they couldn't add the option to disable this in the GUI interface. That's 2x things I have now had to manually adjust in xml's. Definitely not a user friendly media player but powerful. It took me ages to find out where the option to enable bitstreaming was, hidden in advanced. Default settings works great in most cases. Edited July 20, 2015 by Angelblue05
dark_slayer 103
Advanced settings is an XML file you create and place in your userdata folder. The part that needs to exist for this should be <hideallitems>true</hideallitems>[\code] In Isengard this should be under video/file lists or appearance somewhere with expert settings toggled in the gui
