NESBox and SNESBox links missing

Hi all,

Had been a while since I had NESBox and SNESBox plugins installed, so I installed them the other night, but I don't seem to be getting any links in the web interface to play the game anymore.

MB-Server: 3.0.5171.19958

GameBrowser: 2.9.5165.23954

NESBox: 1.0.5165.30038

SNESBox: 1.0.5165.30043

Not sure if this has come about after the latest server release or not.

Otherwise, everything else in the new server seems to be working great.  Looooove being able to watch LiveTV at work.

As always, awesome job.

Cheers,

Drexyl.

53 views, not one reply.  Maybe I need to add a pic to my profile so I get noticed.  :P

Not up to server version 3.0.5202.39823 and still missing the play buttons.

I anyone able to at least confirm they have this working still?  So I at least know it's an issue with my setup or more wide spread?

Hey Luke,

Thanks for replying.

I've refreshed titles, setup brand new clean server, setup new libraries on different servers, still the same unfortunately.

well the identification is purely name based. there's no nes box id or search feature. so it's possible it's just not matching them.

It was working at one stage, but unfortunately, I didn't notice what broke it.

The filenames and directory structures haven't changed.

Do these new red circles with warning symbols have anything to do with it?

Identify doesn't seem to want to do anything.  Even when I put in TheGamesDB id the metadata page doesn't show the ID.  I'll keep playing and see if I can find anything else.

I'll assume it works for you though?

Yet another clean install of server, and setup a new server share for games, gave everyone full control of file permissions and full control of the share (for testing) and still nothing.

Indentify still fails to populate anything that's missing. :(

All good.. I think I've got it sorted.

Started clean again, then started by adding one game at a time.

On initial scan of new roms, no GamesDB ID or NES/SNESBox links show in the meta data.

If I do a refresh, then identify, save, and then refresh, GamesDB and NES/SNESBox link id's are displaying, and my play button is back.

Thanks for your help Luke.

Hey Guys-

I've got my NES and SNES catalogs all configured and working well in MBT. It took forever but I've got both collections identified and have box art for everything. I was just browsing the plugins and saw NesBox / SnesBox.  Mind...blown.  Unfortunately I installed the plugins and have no PLAY buttons in the web client.  I wasn't exactly sure where the play button was supposed to be so I did some google image searching.  It's definitely no where to be found.  Is there something that i'm missing?

Server version: 3.0.5340.21263
GameBrowser 2.9.5324.26435
NESBox: 1.0.5321.43172
SNESBox: 1.0.5321.43175

In case anyone was having the same problem, I figured it out.  Even though I had all of my roms identified, they weren't identified for nesBox/SnesBox.  When i went into the meta data editor I noticed that there was now an NesBoxId field, along with an NesRomId field which were blank.  When I re-identified the game, now that the plugins were installed, it pulled in the appropriate ids for each field.  So, i guess a little advice would be to install the plugins BEFORE going in and identifying all of your games.  I'm not really sure how the plugin works though.  Even though the game is identified by NesBox, and I now have the PLAY button, it sends me over to the NES box site with some querystring parameters, but then just redirects me back to the nesbox homepage.  Oh well, was cool in theory!
