Sony Bravia Error

Hi,

Just trying out the new DLNA feature, the MB3 server dashboard shows my DLNA TV (Sony kdl-40ex640). However, when I tried to remote play to I get "the remote server returned an error: (500) internal error" and the all the log says "error - play to: error updating device info" and here is a lot of them.

Let me know what other info is needed.

Thanks!

It probably just needs a profile created for that device. I believe these are being built on a case-by-case basis. You might just have to hold tight until it's done.

I have a Sony 46" KDL-46EX645 and 60"  KDL-60EX700 and both give the same error. I've included the log file from when I tried to play to the 46" TV

No problem, just wanted to make sure it wasn't something I caused or could fix. Thanks for the great progress devs!

Just to help with the profiles here is the log from the Sony kdl-40ex640 with the new server release (Version 3.0.5209.29215) still get an error 500.

Not sure what I can adjust in the profiles or anything to help, but I will test out any ideas!

Thanks,

Erik

I'll see what I can figure out.. Maybe I should try to get a hold of a Sony TV.

If you don't mind please grab the server dev build. It won't solve the problem but will contain more logging information. Set your update level to dev, get the update, then change the setting back to what it was before.

Just an update. The new server (Version 3.0.5231.40980) gets a step further and even shows the file name on the top title bar of the TV, the TV tries to play the file, then displays "cannot play file" and successive attempts get the initial error 500 until a MBS restart.

Thanks for the progress, here is a log file with all debugging if it helps.

(Its too big for forum upload)

Ok, here are the types I have tested...

Working Files - Plays, shows the cover poster image all perfectly / Is there a remote available once you start a file playing over dlna to stop it? I couldn't find one.

Music (MP3, FLAC)

Note Working

Video (AVI, MKV, DVD Folders) - The AVI will come up the first time with the file title, but fails to play then every attempt afterwards gets an immediate error 500 from MBS web interface, once MBS is restarted I can try again with the same results.

Thanks again,

Erik

EDIT: also, I can see MBS when using the Sony DLNA browser and access it ok, but it just shows folders and media files without any tiles.

try lots of different files. sony is probably the second hardest to support, after xbox 360.

I get a black screen and no sound on a Sony Bravia KDL-40CX520 when I try to play to it. Both MB and the TV think they are playing it though. It ticks up the seconds. I can play/pause from both MB and TV. I can raise and lower the volume.

Music works fine.

I also tried a bunch of files to make debug logs. Hope that helps. Find here: https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=1481AA09E052B68C!749&authkey=!AMccCEJ2LT7m-PQ&ithint=folder%2ctxt

Same here when I browse MediaBrowser from the TV. Well actually I can see some files but nowhere near all. Can't play them though. The TV says "Playback not available".

I get a similar result when browsing my ReadyNAS DLNA service from the TV.

100% the same like my issue with Bravia. Thanks for looking into it and let us know if more logs required.

Trying to switch from Plex to MB3, but the DLNA is not working on my Sony Bravia KDL-40EX720 in that I can't see any files within folders, for music, movies or TV episodes. The loading of the initial list of folders is also very slow. I have attached a log, let me know if you need further info.

Thanks. I would love to solve the issues with sony tv's. unfortunately none of us on the core team have a sony tv. we need a community member to get to the bottom of it by comparing xml going back and forth using fiddler or wireshark, to whatever plex or serviio is doing.

Isn't this a similar issue with the ps3 as well?

I wish i still had my ps3.

I dont want to speak for luke but he helped me and all i did was turn off all my dlna devices except for the one you have issues with, run wire shark while trying to access media, and then turn it off and send it to luke along with the log as well and then i did the same doing a wireshark for a dlna server that was working.

Maybe it wont work that smoothly with sony devices but if people want to get it working and this could fix the issue it took me about 15 minutes to do this and the next day luke had it fixed.

i have looked at serviio profiles for the ps3. i think they're actually somewhat different. but yes, the same kind of assistance I received from GhostM is what it's going to take. Or a ps3 donation. Maybe you'll get lucky and it will fix the tv's.

All i did was download wireshark on my pc, turn off all dlna devices except the culprit. Fired up wireshark on my pc on the network and quickly tried to access dlna on the problematic device, turned wireshark off, sent the log to luke with my mb3 log. I think running a separate wire shark quickly with a working dlna device (plex, ect....) might also be useful and sending it to him so he could compare.

Thats just what i did though, took about 15 minutes and he fixed it quickly. Not to say this will be the same but perhaps its something he can work with.

Okay, here are the Mediabrowser & Plex Wireshark logs, as well as the MB log.

I tried to turn everything else off on the network and access DLNA as fast as I could on the TV. I then accessed movies and tried to play a few.

I've also found that I need to have the blast alive option on for my TV to see the Mediabrowser server at all. Let me know if you need further information, happy to help get this all sorted.
