Backdrop/Background for Movie Genres

I have set up movies by Genre Folder in MBC on my windows machine as below:

But then i navigate forward to "browse the genres" there is no background image:

I would love to have a background image for this section and or for each Genre when highlighted.

I applied a background using the web UI ("Action" genre higlighted in pic as example)

But this has no effect on the browser itself. Leaving the background generic by default. Out of desperation i navigated to IBN/genre folder and IBN/genre/action and dumped images in them but still with no success:

Is there a way to add a background to the Movies by Genre section once the user has navigated to it?? Is there a way to associate a background with each genre when highlighted/selected in this area also??

Thanks in advance.

A picture named backdrop.jpg should be all u need like u have in ur screen grab. Did u restart the server/mbclassic after u set the backdrop image?

I'm not at my PC right now and its been awhile since I went into the IBN folder but do u have a general folder? Try placing ur genre folder inside the general folder, or create it then place genre inside it. I don't remember 100% if that's how it works, maybe someone can jump in with better advice. It should have worked just by assigning it in the web ui tho

No, the folder structure is correct.

Try deleting background.jpg.

The above pic shows what i have in the folder. I have restarted sever and client, but still no luck on getting a background pic to show once i am browsing "genres". This has got me stumped and a little annoyed as its the ony section without a backdrop

I have created a "General" folder inside imagesbyname with "movies by genre" folder inside it. That allowed me to apply and icon and backdrop to the movie by genre on main navigation page. But it doesnt allow me to do any more. I will try putting folders in the "movies by genre" folder and see how that goes. Edit: here is what i did >>vVPORvd.jpg

After restarting client and server there is no change. Im really stuck as to what has to be done to remedy this

Just tried placing (copying) the "genre" folder into ibn/general and ibn/general/movies by genre folders and no go

I was wondering if anything came of this? Just asking as I'm seeing a different primary image in the web client to in MBC (the web client is correct, MBC isn't)

MBC is showing the 'Documentary image for 'Drama' and also 'Biography' for some reason

MBC:

As expected in the web client:

The web client is showing a thumb and MBC a primary which are two different images.  Look at the images tab in the metadata editor for that genre.  Looks like the primary image is wrong.

Seems OK....

Weirdly though I just tried on a separate machine and it's fine. Seeing as this is going to be my main machine don't worry about it, unless you are really interested?

I do have another query which I was going to start another thread for, but I'll ask here as I think its a quick answer. How to I set an image for the main genres folder, the one that shows up on the EHS when I have 'show genres' checked? Can't see a way in the web client...

Cheers

Okay, the image issue is an old bug then.  If you really want to correct it, delete the MBC image cache on that machine.

To provide images for items that only exist in MBC and not the web client, you have to manually create them in the IBN\General folder.
