Movie Theme Music Playing in Foreground

I only have a few movies and most TV series with Theme-music.

Today after update to MB3 Classic the Theme-music plays in the foreground in WMC. (a fluttering WMC Blue background and media controls)  When I stop the music using the media controls then the normal theme "ROC" displays. I tried Chocolate and that doesn't play the theme music (Maybe by design)

I noticed this the first time after the MBC update to 3.0.182.0 6-12.1. It could have happened before since I haven't watched anything recently with theme music.

Any guidance is appreciated.

If Roc still has its own theme music settings, disable them.  Then install the free plug-in for theme backdrops from the MBC Plug-in catalog.

On another machine I didn't let the new MBC Classic update run. Otherwise they are both set up the same. The movie theme play just like they should in the background.

I did unselect the playing of themes in ROc but I haven't installed the plugin yet. I have come to the conclusion it is an issue with MBC 3.0.182. Tomorrow I going to let the work machine update to 3.0.182. If it fails the theme-music, I think that it would strongly suggest that something introduce in the new MBC is the issue, not the ROC theme.

I will followup tomorrow

The functionality has changed and Roc has not adjusted to it.  I requested that logic be removed from all themes quite a while ago just because of issues like this.  You need to not use the functionality in Roc and use the plug-in (which has been adjusted for the new features) instead.

Thanks for the follow-up. I will disable ROC's ability to play theme's and install the plug-in and try it out.

Did u go into the settings of the theme plugin? U have to go into the settings and turn on what u want to be played in the background, themes, trailer, etc.

Shouldn't there be some sort of usable default here so it will "just work" after installation?  @@radeon

There is but its set to trailers as default as that was how it was originally designed. I just haven't got round to changing it to theme media as default as i guess it should be as it is its most popular use, i guess?

Scrap that.

Just pushed an update to 1.0.0.6 which sets theme media as the default for a fresh install instead of trailers.

Got it working. For some reason all of the tv shows that have a hidden 'backdrops' folder would not play the theme song. Once I deleted that folder (which was empty) it would work. Maybe that'll help some people who have had similar issues.

On another note, I still can't get the new player interface to work. Once the show/movie has ended, mediabrowser crashes and sends me back to windows media center.

Are you using ROC, Crystal, Aztec or Breeze?

I'm using Breeze.

So I have the player interface disabled until I learn of a fix.

Can you find the error in your Windows event log and post it?  Instructions are in the How to Report a Problem post.

It wouldn't look like MBC.  It would be related to Ehexthost.exe and be under the Media Center section.  It might just be an informational message as well.

I checked again all I see is "recording" and "mcupdate"

*strange, when I fast forward to the end of a previously watched episode and let it play for the last 30 seconds or so, it works find.
