For me, that means can I play DVDs ripped into video_ts folders, as mentioned in MBC forum item 'Black screen when playing .vob files inside VIDEO_TS folder'. Thanks. Not really In my experience there is no time code available during playback (meaning no resume or chapter support). Only a single audio track is available, even if multiple tracks are present. No chapter support at all (all chapters are listed in 5 minute increments). I have all of these issues, whether they are in Video_ts folders or mkv's. Also, a number of us are having issues with the displayed aspect ratio. All 480i/p starts playback in 4:3 mode. This seems to be related to MadVR, but it's unclear how. Some have the issue when MadVR is disabled. I myself have the problem when it's enabled. When all is said and done, there hasn't been much movement on these issues and, for whatever reason, the devs have been pretty quiet in regards to these problems. With VIDEO_TS rips, the only controls that work for me are the Pause/Play and Stop buttons, and the DVD menus don't work at al. If I try to use the keyboard I get some 'unhandled exception' thing' and have to close the program. DVDs play pretty well in MBC except for the menus thing meaning I have to use the WMP controls. I guess its still early days, but with this working properly, TV watching/recording and hopefully DLNA working, it'll make a really excellent one stop shop media player, Does anyone have any news on progress perhaps ? Guess the only thing stopping me is getting round to it - would have around 300 to do, though I believe there are batch programs/processes available. Also, playing dvds 'as is' may well be something that MBT will do in the future, especially if its to eventually replace MBC, which already plays them anyway. There are mkv batch converters. I recently converted all of my DVD and TV eps (3-4000 or so). Once setup it doesn't take overly long... Still, doesn't fix the DVD issues with MBT. The new version is for HD bluray only while the older one, probably the version I have is for DVD. Though I thought it was for both. I"ll let you know either way. MakeMKV will take all your DVD rips and convert them to MKVs. in the middle of a movie at the moment Edit....weird, just looked on Make MKV advance forum and there is the batch converter for both dvd and bluray http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=6556 you still need the main MakeMKV application installed. I don't, so I found a VB script that automatically replaces all the _ with spaces. Problem solved. Also discovered a program called File 2 Folder. arrbee99 1551 Posted July 10, 2014 Author Share Posted July 10, 2014 Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but I look in the thread 'Finding a way to get MB to do everything I want' where Luke says 'With MBT the internal player will ultimately be so much stronger' and I think maybe soon MBT will play my dvd rips with menus and without crashing just perfectly.
