jscoys 143
Hi, As you can see on the video, when we use low bitrate (650 Kbps or under 3 Mbps) we've got video playback issue and weird artifacts. You can see the problem on a video I made this morning : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYijlE9Ez5c I've got an other demand to ask if you want to thank me for the bug reporting ;-) : could you add lowest video playback bitrate like 200 or 300 kbps? Thank you very much!
jscoys 143
Just to precise that It's not only with one movie, the phenomenon appends with all videos.
darwindeeds 356
Thats a beautiful video, you should make promo videos for us With that said, the frame rate associated with the lower bit rate is causing the scaling. Not sure if we can fix it that until adaptive streaming is implemented. Seeing how you are in wifi, wondering why you would like lower bitrate? jscoys 143
In fact I like to go in a coffe shops usually on each weekend. In these places, they've got a shared wifi and the bandwith you have is hasardus... When I use the web Access on my iPad and i select 240p it works like a charm. So, for my needs, i can't use the iPad app, even if i think it is a really great app :-( Very happy to learn that an adaptive streaming is planned to be implemented! Do you have a approximate date for that?
jscoys 143
Do you use exactly the same streaming API to get video content? Just weird that on web access low bitrates work?!
darwindeeds 356
I can compare the bitrates between the webapp and the iOS at 240p and see whats different.
darwindeeds 356
Its pretty close but the web client is ahead in terms of streaming. The server guys are making improvements to the streaming setup and it would reach the web client the first.
Luke 37064
yea the web client is using the newer hls api that has adaptive bitrate streaming, among other things.
