Remote and App focus

Not generally a Media Browser question, but everyone here is so helpful I thought I would post the question to see if anyone has any ideas.

My issue is that I use iTunes and airplay to stream music all over my house. iTunes runs on my server along with MBS and MBT for my living room TV.

When I have iTunes open in the background it steals my remote inputs so the play/pause stop buttons on my remote have no effect on MBT even though MBT is open and in focus and iTunes is closed to taskbar. If I close iTunes my remote works fine in MBT, but I have to have iTunes running to be able to send music to airplay devices. Any ideas? A quick google shows that many people have this issue since iTunes 10.5 but I cant downgrade as some of the features I use then don’t work.

Sounds like you need an autoit dev to write a small script for you.

I'm an apple man too, and it sometimes feels like they have no respect for their customers. They just want to control everything and chuck it in your face.

ye i like the Apple stuff just don't link them as a company. might have to revert back to my old music streaming system for now.

I will take a look at autoit, thanks for the suggestion.
