buddyweiser 105
@@ebr, would it be possible to add a treatment for Music Artists specifically? I really like the album art as seen in WindowsMediaPlayer, could something like this be added to CoverArt? I like this idea because most album art is much more recognizable than some artist pictures when looking at a poster view of album artists. Here's what they look like in WMP.

ebr 14913
Sorry, I haven't gotten around to considering it yet.
ebr 14913
Okay, I gave this a whack. I even implemented it 95%. However, it is just too problematic in the current environment. It suffers from two major issues: 1) The web client does a horrible job of displaying these. I think it is doing something like trying to grab the middle of the image and crop it in some way and it ends up stretching and distorting the fanned images. 2) The age-old problem of if an item doesn't have a primary image then CoverArt is never even called so it is impossible to create this image from the children. A lot of music artist won't have primary images so it creates a very inconsistent look to the collection. For these reasons, I believe it is better to have clients create this type of display if they wish instead of trying to bake it into the actual images. By "Clients create this type of display", do you mean for example to have themes such as chocolate and xenon? or an MBC core feature?
ebr 14913
I was really thinking clients other than MBC...
