Had everything working after reinstalling MB server the other day, but today I noticed that the collections are missing what looks like one movie each. So a collection of 2 films only shows 1 when you select it etc. Is this a know issue?

Server Version 3.0.5309.26857

Ok just to add after looking at the logs myself (but I am no expert lol), looks like auto box set has gone mad - its trying to add members, they already exist so it removes it??

Those are actually two different movies but I see lots of errors attempting to manage the sets.

First thing to do is update the plug-in to the latest release.

Have you attempted to create any manual box sets yourself or have ones created in another directory hanging around from the older version of the plug-in?

I reinstalled Server and my plug-ins just the other day so these should all be the latest releases. I will reboot the server again and see what it does. I haven't created any manual box sets. I do still have the auto box set directory from the old version when we could manually change the path which has the correct membership.

Sorry the example was bad, it looked like it was trying to add then removing it...

You weren't on the latest release of Auto Box Sets - I could see that from your log.  However, I don't think that is related to the issue.

That is the problem.  You need to delete those because they are duplicates and that's why the auto plug-in is having such trouble.

I do still have the old box sets directory on my NAS but when I reinstalled the server the other day I didn't include this path, only the location of all the movies so the server doesn't know about the old boxsets. Also how do I get a new version, the current one looks like 1.0.0.1 and when I run the schedule task for plug-in updates nothing happens?

Thanks for helping me with this issue. Please let me know what else I can do to troubleshoot...

quick update, I click on the button refresh box sets within the plug-in and I now see the correct number of members for each collection so it looks like it fixed itself somehow... I have no idea why the error started or why its now working, I didn't make any changes, very odd.

Also I am not seeing all those errors in the log now..

Sorry for the wild goose chase on the version.  I forgot that one depends on functionality not in the released server.

Glad you got everything sorted.

I don't think it is the same issue as before as I don't see those errors in the logs but I have the same problem again :-( every boxset has 1 movie missing. There was some others reporting this in the server thread and someone suggested it was the online movie database having issues but I don't think that is it either. If I look at the Austin Powers collection I only have 2 of the 3 films in the boxset, when I go to themoviedb.org with the id 1006 as per the metadata it shows all 3 movies as part of the collection?

I just updated to the latest beta server release, deleted all the collections again (shutdown and delete the folders in the cache collections and data collections), restarted and hit refresh in autoboxsets and the same issue, 1 movie missing in each collection.

In the log I can see where it says the Austin powers collection (1006) is found with 2 members, any clue to why this is broken?

If you look at the metadata with the metadata manager for the one that isn't included, does it have the proper tmdb-collectionid defined for it?

Yes it does have 817 as the movie db id, the collection id is missing but on the movie db database it shows it as part of the collection. If this is a problem with the movie db service is there a better alternative?

Thanks!

It is the tmdb collection id that matters so if that isn't there, that is why it isn't showing in the collection.  You can simply add it right there in the metadata manager.

No, there is no other source that we know of and tmdb has been mucking with this information for the past few months which has made all of this rather fluid and unpredictable.  One would assume that, eventually, they will get it all in order and it will calm down.

Edit - also, instead of looking up and adding the proper collection ID, simply use the collection interface in the web client to add the movie to the collection manually and the plug-in will automatically update the collection ID for you.

OK Thanks for the info, I'll try the manual process for now - do I need to remove the auto boxset plug in though? If I add the missing ones will they not just get removed again like the original problem. They were there and got removed so not sure how that worked?

No, as I said above, if you do the add using the web interface with the auto boxset plug-in installed, it will update the metadata for the movie for you.

The reason it was removed before is because tmdb removed it from the metadata.  That could happen again but it is an issue with tmdb not the plug-in.  So, if it still is not in the tmdb data and you refresh that movie, it will probably get removed again but, I don't think, it will happen without you doing a refresh.

Thanks, I'll add one back in and see how it goes, don't fancy doing all that manual work if they just get removed again - may just drop having collections for now.
