saitoh183 137
I have the TV show Grimm and i was looking at the metadata and saw that MBS failed to find the proper data. It found http://thetvdb.com/?tab=series&id=111131&lid=7 Now when i hit identify, it finds the proper show but after clicking on it, it doesnt change the metadata content. If i hit the refresh to it wil just put in the wrong content again. I dont know if this is because of Anime plugin since it populated the anidb and anilist fileds. But my question is, shouldnt the Identify overwrite the metadata?
Luke 36887
That's what it does. Tested and verified recently. But check the Id's after using the identify function and see if one of them didn't get replaced.

All the IDs (TVDB, MovieDB, IMDB) point to the proper show but description and all the other parts of the metadata arent updated.
saitoh183 137
Well i dont know if identify has a problem when you set anidb to the top of the list in the metadata area(because thats how it needs to be for the anime plugin), Even if identify does find the proper show it will still take the overview of the anime show but the TV show poster. Example of this is the TV show Eureka being detected as Eureka Seven the anime but it MSB finds the TV show using Identify but populates the TV show itself with the anime metadata, season 1 and 2 with anime metatdata, all other seasons as the TV shows and all images of the tv show. The only way is to fix i guess is to revert TVDB to the top of the list and rescan , lock show and then put anidb back at the top...just sucks that if we are not aware of other tv shows that have this problem, we get stuck with the wrong content until one day we verify and noticed. Angelblue05 4130
I could not get identify to work for me either. I don't know the purpose of it, because when I use it to identify incorrect series and save, it doesn't replace anything. If there was maybe an explanation on how to make it work properly, it would be useful.
Koleckai Silvestri 1150
I had this problem a while back. The only way to resolve it was to manually delete the series.xml file. Happened when the change was made so that existing XML files were more important than everything else. After that it is almost impossible to update information while the XML file exists. I have been bringing the issue up for months and posting logs but none of the developers seem to be able to recreate it.
