chef 3744
@@Luke Might be a problem here with the Server Rating everything "G". For instance: After Earth Movie records the Parental Rating as "G". It now shows up in my three year olds Data Base. Not Good!... If I Select a new Parental Rating I can Change it and Save it! It is then removed from his database. But, if I refresh the movie title, it will automatically reassign the Parental Rating to "G" and it then shows back up in my three year olds library. The IDs here are proper as they will open the IMDB web page to the proper movie. This happens for quite a few movies. They should be rated "PG-13" but end up rated as "G" and show up in his library screen. Even "Sin City" shows up. I can never process a mass "Refresh" of metadata because a bunch of movies will be re-rated to "G" and show up on his home screen. What do you think is happening here? Thanks for you time, Ben Edited July 31, 2014 by chef
chef 3744
I have to bump this, because it is driving me nuts! I am still unable to get a true record of Parental ratings for my movies, and it is causeing them to show up in my kids library views. Sorry. Necker 24
If you look at that movie on the movie database it is set us as CA-G, so that's why it's dowloading that rating. If you set the custom rating field to the rating you want then that won't show up in your sons library and a refresh won't clear the custom rating field. Hope that helps.
chef 3744
Thank you @@Necker, I didn't realize that it was rated CA-G. However the Us rating is "PG-13". Perhaps it is me who has his rating all mixed up? I can not believe that my Government would allow this movie to be rated "G". It just doesn't seem like a movie three year old kids should watch.. Acually this movie was pretty bad... maybe no one should watch it... Thank you for your help. My Country has really bad Parental Ratings..... Tharnax 49
My Country has really bad Parental Ratings..... Yes it does. For example, How to Train Your Dragon is CA-PG but as you mentioned After Earth receives a CA-G rating. This is likely more a source feed then the actually movie ratings when the movie was release. I've spent much longer then really should be necessary going through 1200+ movies, 100+ collections and 100+ TV shows fixing all the custom ratings to what I think is appropriate. Once you've done that in the meta data you can turn off rating updates, I don't think custom rating should ever be automatically overwritten but I didn't want to take that chance.
chef 3744
@@Tharnax i am wondering if it is worth selecting/changing the Geo-location for metadata in the server to pull US ratings? Is that even possible? The Americans seem to have their $h!t together when it comes to rating movies. Go Leafs Go! Side note: I hear that Bon Jovi might have bought us the Boston Bruins... they might be comming to the Big Smoke... or T. or Downtown, whatever you wanna call Toronto. Side note: I hear that Bon Jovi might have bought us the Boston Bruins... they might be comming to the Big Smoke... or T. or Downtown, whatever you wanna call Toronto. I had considered that and I actually did the original Github pull to add the CA ratings to MB as they originally didn't exist. This is the problem I found afterwards. I originally setup my MB Server to pull Metadata as if I was in the US, however, when I re-installed one of the early betas during early testing I switch it to Canada. I haven't since try switching back to US to see the impact, you are welcome to try it as it will likely pull better rating results. You can find it under Metadata/settings/country Boston Bruins? I think you mean the Buffalo Bills..... I don't think we could handle two NHL teams in Toronto.

That is what I ment to write... but if the Bruins where in T.O. we might stand to win a Cup once in a while...
