Internal Player Wont Play One MKV file.

On my sister's Win 8.1 pc, I have set up MBC. I have a few mkv movies set up for her. One of them refuses to play using the internal player.

I'm confused because two MKV's that DO play have bitrates of between 8000mbps and 12,000mbps, but the one that won't play is only about 3000mbps.

She has at least 100 TV shows in MKV that seem to play fine as well.

I originally left this out, but upon thinking about it, I guess it is probably pretty relevant:

The web player, the Roku client, and MB Theater ALL play this file without a problem. It's only MB Classic that cannot play it.

What am I looking for?

Edited to add the above info about the other clients.

ok... please do the below to help us...

on the webclient of the mb SERVER piece..

find an example item that plays OK and go to the "Media Info" tab of its detail page..

do the same with the 1 MKV that wont play (media info)

here is an example of what you'd be looking for...

https://www.dropbox.com/s/idacnasoml34xgf/mediainfoweb.jpg

with this info from both movies (good and bad).. some dev/user much smarter than i am MAY be able to figure it out..

also you want to follow the steps here:  http://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/topic/793-how-to-report-a-problem/

attaching the MBS and MBC logs as well as the media info..

with all of that your much more likely to get to the root of this issue.

hope it helps!

Thank you.

I should point out that the movie that does not play was "recorded" using PlayLater, an app from PlayOn. It allows you to "copy" movies and TV shows from streaming services by re-encoding them as they stream to your pc.

But I do not believe the issue has to do with how these files are created, because other movies created the same way DO play! also, all of these files play from the web player AND also on the Roku channel.

So this info is from the movie that will NOT play to her MBC:

I do not understand why there are TWO video columns. That second column doesn't make any sense to me at all.

And this is from a movie that DOES play to her MBC (not from PlayLater):

As you can see, The movie that doesn't play has a much lower bitrate. Obviously, the issue must be something else.

Here is another movie that does play, and again, it was created the exact same way as the problem movie:
