Live TV guide never remembers channel limit setting

The Live TV guide doesn't remember my setting to 100 channels per page, no matter how many times I do it, on any browser or device.

All other sorting in sections such as movies, where I have it set to 500 per page, the shows tab in TV using banners, setting that to show 200 series per page, things like that, those settings are saved.

It's just a minor pet peeve, am also hoping its a minor bug.

..........in ANY case, hopefully this is enough attention on the issue. Hopefully its not a big issue to deal with.

  • 2 months later...

I just want to start off by saying media browser is the best app I've ever used to stream media to many different clients all at once and it's easy enough to use my 4 year old uses it daily to watch her cartoons.

I just finished setting up another computer to do the live TV stuff. It was pretty easy to setup 4 feeds with some old hardware I had laying around. The only thing I can't seem to figure out (and I'm sure I'll feel dumb when I'm shown) but how do I make it always show the first 50 channels (that's all the analog channels I can stream) and not the first 20 in the electronic program guide.

Thanks in advance,

Steven

Assuming you are referring to the web client, I too would be interested in setting this up.  Perhaps a feature request if someone can't point how to do it otherwise?

Like @@Kent says - assuming a web client - go to the channel page.  Just above the channel icons you'll see the '1-20 of **' buttons, the right most one is a button with a vertical ellipses, click that button and select your default item limit.

Pyrn,

Just be aware that this change will only 'stick' for that viewing of the guide.  If you leave the guide page and return, it will default back to 20. Wish this would stay at the last number a user sets.  Even better would be an option to set a group of 'Favorite' channels only to be displayed in the WebUI, or to use the groupings of favorite channels you have set in Windows Media Center, if that is your backend.

@@blade005,

This channel display setting sticks for me, even after I restart my system.

Never has for me in Chrome. Always defaults back to 20.  Will have to mess around and see if there is something I can do to make a change stick.  Thanks for letting me know it can work the way I would like.

That's strange.  I am using chrome too.

I'll look into it more.

What's really strange is that default numbers per page in the WebUI work on other pages (i.e. Number of Movies or TV Shows) to display per page. I can set these to an increased number and the WebUI remembers them. The TV GUIDE is the only one I have an issue with.

As soon as I close out the browser I lose the setting for 50 channels on the WebUI live tv pgogram guide. I am using Internet Explorer 11 and it always defaults back to showing 20 channels if I close out the media browser tabs in IE. The number of movies default setting I set stays but the live TV guide number always returns to 20.

Pyrn,

That is the same experience I have had with both Chrome and IE on the GUIDE. The setting only 'sticks' for that browser session. Close it out and it will default back to 20.

I have tried most of the screens like that and they all seem to remember the setting after I close the window except for the live tv webui channel grid.

@@krustyreturns I think we are talking to separate settings, no? One setting is under Channels tab to which you can change the default list and it sticks. The other setting is under the Guide tab where you can adjust how many channels show up in the EPG but it doesn't stick. It always defaults to 20 on new sessions.

Thus is the setting that I believe OP is inquiring on, and the one I am also interested to modify as well.
