BATTLE DONKEY 98
If the .XML files contain DVD sorting order and airs before/after info. Would it be possible to add a button in the dashboard metadata editing page to use the DVD sort order for shows like Firefly and to add special episodes into the seasons for shows like Top Gear? For continuity purposes it would be nice to change the sort order for individual TV shows
thealienamongus 6
I want this to, the server should fetch the alt sort orders (DVD, Absolute) and the specials sort order (Airs before/after) and the client should have the options of sorting based on the different sort order. Ethyria 8
I'm a long time XBMC user and after seeing the MB post over on the XBMC forums, I'm very excited about the development of MB Server. I just wanted to bump this thread and see if this feature is being considered. The airs before / airs after tags are incredibly helpful when dealing with shows that have alot of Specials, eg Doctor Who, as XBMC relies on these tags to place the specials in there position within the seasons. Thanks for all your hard work on MB Server.
tipex 2
Dear MB team, yes please do this! It would be perfect, when the user could select on season level how the sorting hould be: aired order / DVD order. Like it is in thetvdb.com possible. A good example would be here the TV Show "Firefly". Thank you for your work and support. Greetings
ewcrider 2
I'd like to add that it would be great for the server to fetch metadata in the dvd order, so the actual files would be in the same [dvd] order on the filesystem. Though just editing and locking Firefly really wasn't that much work.
Guest virtualtinker
Let's take Firefly as an example... Go into the metadata manager specific for The Train job episode. If you look, you'll see the alternate episode numbers which shows the actual order of the shows of the DVD. In this case, it says episode 2. A bit above that has a field called 'Episode Number'. There you see the episode is 1 for the actual air date, which is what MB is using to sort the episodes. Change that 1 into a 2, then scroll to the bottom and save. Repeat that for all of the episodes and they will show up in the proper chronological order now.
Luke 37063
i would suggest not hacking your own solution. i do intend to add customizable per-series sort order configuration on the series edit page. It's not exactly the highest priority but I do intend to get to it.
tipex 2
@ewcrider: Can you tell me how you adjusted the TV-Show Firefly to have it in DVD order? For that you have to re-assign the files manually and that's not possible with Metadata Manager.
tipex 2
Hi Luke, I think I'll wait for your change. It's easier to have it in Metadata Browser when doing a refresh on a show. Otherwise it would be "unsorted" again. Can you post it here when your implementation is finished?

JPelly 1
I am also interested in this feature. Personally I would prefer all TV show episodes to be displayed in the order of their DVD or absolute episode numbers (i.e. proper chronological order) and not in the order they were aired. Any idea when this feature is going to be implemented?
