Any subtitles settings tweaked or anything?  I still can't get it to work.  Just updated today, still no dice with an MP4 and  a .eng.srt.

Strange, no nothing tweaked.

I'm running madvr and default subtitle settings.

My bad, everything works fine.  Had switched up files, had to re-select the subtitle.  Good job.

If you have an issue please include detailed steps to reproduce the issue. Without that I have to guess at what you're doing.

When I try and play a video with embedded subtitles the file plays but with no sound or subtitles

You have the latest rev? I can't reproduce this issue (both audio and embedded (PGS) subs work for me).

Also default PGS and default audio? No I guess not. External subtitles are not the first priority. Is our mkv not packed with subtitles, there is no opportunity to show them. None of the options I specify via MBT has no effect when it comes to LAV or XySubFilter

Ok this is a really late post but subtitles are a pain in the Emby theater. I have been using Media Browser 2 all this time but with the end of Media Center I have been forced to change. Media Browser 2 was fantastic and I never had any issues with sound, subtitles, picture or anything. I was not able to stream to other devices however I don't care about that anyway. Since I have started using Emby Theater I have had so many issues. I do like the setup, look, and feel of it but I miss the functionality. The 1 hump I have not been able to get over is the subtitle issues. I am using the latest Emby Theater version (as of right now anyway). When I pick a movie, the "overall" screen says it has subtitles. When I play the movie, sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. I think it may have something to do with the properties of the actually muxed subtitle (whether it is not labeled, forced, no language, etc). In order to get some of the them to work I have to press the windows key during playback, right click the xysubfilter or LAV icon by clock the click the hell out of a ton of options until they finally play. Either I am doing something wrong from the word go or this is missing critical features. The web interface works great cause it has a little drop down that allows subtitle selection (like netflix). I think if this issue is resolved for me, I will like it better than the old version 2. Any help?

It looks like it has been added into theater but currently not available for public consumption.

Wow, thanks for the quick reply on such an old thread. Even that link you provided is 9 months old. You would think that the stable release would be out by now especially since the last generation played subtitles just fine.
