phaselocd 0
Just did a fresh build with windows 8.1 pro X64 version (Dec 14 2014 build date) I have rebuilt the OS twice just to make sure there was not some type of fluke occurrence. using MPC-HC as the external player, version 1.7.7 x64 running MBT version 3.0.5494.42115 MB Server version 3.0.5490.2 I installed MPC-HC, tested to see it works (no changes, default settings)next, I installed MBT and set the external player. my path to movies is \\homeserver\s\movies /play /close /fullscreen I'm getting the following behaviours: it is taking almost a full 60 seconds before the movie starts to play after the movie finishes, the next movie in my directory starts to play, despite my settings to make it exit or close in the player options or in the options added in MBT. pinging the windows NAS server (server 2012 R2) name gives me an instant response from my client machine. here are the last 12 lines from my log on the client machine: 2015-01-21 22:35:49.2421 Info - App: C:\Program Files\MPC-HC\mpc-hc64.exe \\homeserver\s\movies /play /close /fullscreen2015-01-21 22:35:49.2421 Debug - ScreensaverManager: Calling SetThreadExecutionState to prevent system idle2015-01-21 22:35:49.2421 Debug - ApiClient: ReportPlaybackStart: Item 29a0de73278397ff8a539566a4555e9b2015-01-21 22:35:49.2421 Debug - ApiClient: POST http://10.0.0.108:8096/mediabrowser/Sessions/Playing?format=json2015-01-21 22:35:49.3131 Info - ApiClient: Received web socket message: PlaybackStart2015-01-21 22:35:49.3141 Debug - ApiClient: Received 204 status code after 64.0043 ms from POST: http://10.0.0.108:8096/mediabrowser/Sessions/Playing?format=json2015-01-21 22:35:49.8211 Info - ApiClient: Received web socket message: UserDataChanged2015-01-21 22:37:17.1930 Debug - ApiClient: POST http://10.0.0.108:8096/mediabrowser/Sessions/Playing/Stopped?format=json2015-01-21 22:37:17.1930 Debug - ScreensaverManager: Calling SetThreadExecutionState to allow system idle2015-01-21 22:37:17.2990 Info - ApiClient: Received web socket message: PlaybackStopped2015-01-21 22:37:17.2990 Debug - ApiClient: Received 204 status code after 108.0049 ms from POST: http://10.0.0.108:8096/mediabrowser/Sessions/Playing/Stopped?format=json2015-01-21 22:37:17.7680 Info - ApiClient: Received web socket message: UserDataChanged Worked perfectly before when I had this setup on the same machine with Windows 7. No idea on what to try next to fix the delay and stop problems.
Solution foghat 65 Posted January 22, 2015 Solution Share Posted January 22, 2015 (edited) I don't know if you are actually supposed to include the path to the media - how would this work if you had multiple media paths (I do)? Try leave in the default value of {PATH} instead. This is what I do and things work fine. Just make sure the machine you have MBT on has access to your media library (i.e. networked drive). If this is not possible, use Path Substitution on the server. Though I guess it must have access since the movie plays eventually. phaselocd 0
Thank You ! I set up as you suggested and it now works properly. Funny, but on my win 7 setup I had to put in the whole path even though I had path substitution setup.

Weird, my htpc is win7 and I've never put the actual path in, but I don't need to use path substitution the way I am set up. Glad you got it working. Of course these days I am using the internal player so it is all moot.
