Hi, I've found that since upgrading to Version 3.0.5518.7, my setting of "show only unwatched" needs to be set every time I start up MBC.

I checked the pinned "latest release" post to look for info on the changes in this update, in the emby classic forum, but it appears to not be in use anymore (last updated 2013).

Is this now the norm (settings for the view aren't remembered ) or do I need to set this somewhere now or maybe it's just a me problem :) ?

I use MBClassic, chocolate theme, I've tried a heap of settings in the configuration and checked the dashboard, but no changes seem to resolve the issue.

I checked the "how to report a problem", it says to post the classic logs from here - \ProgramData\MediaBrowser-Classic\logs but all I have in there is MBClassic-Msi.log which is a standard msi install log file showing successful install on 16-03-2015.

Any thoughts on where I can go from here?

I have seen mentioned that some settings for Classic are in the web client, maybe if you could post a link to how I find the web client ( or is that a separate installation required - I couldn't see it on the downloads page),

Below is what my start menu contains for MB. no mention of a web client.

thanks in advance for any help.

I did find this link http://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/topic/697-locating-the-configuration-files-for-mbc/ which shows what my settings are, but the way I read it, it suggests that I should normally avoid manually changing stuff here unless it is a last resort.

The current Emby WMC version and release notes for each version are posted in a pinned topic in this forum.

Filter settings are not persistent across sessions by design because doing so was causing other issues and it was a very little-used feature (it changed a while ago and you are the first one to mention it).

i just upgraded to 3.0.8.0 from who knows what version and I noticed the same thing within a few minutes. The extra mouse clicks to choose the option are already annoying the wife. Oh well, she will adjust.

I must be missing something here.

What I'm reading is this - am I understanding it right?

I have around 80 tv shows, most times only around 10 - 15 will have episodes that haven't been watched - this obviously changes as new episodes come in or are watched.

The system now is just to cycle through the 80 shows till you find the shows that haven't been watched, or redo the filters each time you switch profiles or log off?

If I have that wrong, can someone clarify?

Could someone post a link to the release notes, going blind in my old age, I can only find this one http://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/topic/832-current-version-30258/ which only goes to 3.0.258, I'm looking for the current release 3.0.5518.7.  If I can find where the removal of this feature is, is there a link to allow download of older versions so I can revert back to the version before this change and stick with that?

This change happening a while ago means my autoupdate must have stopped working for a while because I find having to redo my settings every time I start up MB annoying and it definitely wasn't this way before the update completed 10 days ago, but if I can revert back to an older version, that won't be a problem I guess.

thanks for any help.

had some success, completely uninstalled everything MB, then downloaded and reinstalled. now when I leave and re-enter the TV folder I don't have to reselect the "only show unwatched option.  Also the episodes now only show the unwatched stuff, don't have to scroll though 50 episodes to find the one I was up to.

time to leave it at that and give up I think. I'm obviously not going to get what I was after which was to not see all the watched stuff on my screen as a once off setting.

after the reinstall, if I set my tv to only show unwatched, go to movies, then come back to TV, the setting is now remembered which was not the case before.

couldn't find the "Next Up" view mentioned anywhere in MBC.

thanks for the tips

Disorganise

Well this is a little disappointing.  My MB Classic has always been filtered to show only unwatched and it's worked brilliantly.  Last week or maybe the week before I succumbed to the autoupdate message and bang, the unwatched setting keeps resetting.  I thought I was doing something wrong.

And to be honest, this setting is the main reason I avoid using Android app.

If there's anyway to downgrade back to the version that had the unwatched flag 'sticky' between sessions, do please advise and I promise I won't update ever again.

Unless someone smart out there can come up with a workaround?  eg, have some overnight process MOVE the watched stuff into another folder so it doesn't in the main list.
